my first visit to Amsterdam was 1973 ... been back a few times, but not since 1993. Hope to make one more trip. My favourite city. Schipol Airport is within sight of my sons' maternal grandmother's homestead. We could watch planes land from the edge of the farm.

Great vacation vlog! Carl and I went to Amsterdam in 2016, fell in love with it. We stayed at the Dylan, but met up with friends at the Pulitzer, which was lovely; both are exquisite hotels and in historic areas...so charming. We are planning to go back, would love to plan it for Pride week. Thanks for sharing.

The hotel you loved is one of the most expensive in Amsterdam so you should have loved it . We have been there three times ,once at Christmas and it was great fun . We were not on any tour and never have.... to any port of call . We have always done all our own planning and research . One of us was a history major and a musician, and I was a fine arts and a literature major and could have led educational tours . We did this at the beginning of our excursions before Pride and even Stonewall (77) ( 83). We have been back to Amsterdam since ,however, and throughout the country ( which is amazing ) suffering now, however with too many visitors , more than the actual population and trying to reduce the numbers . Watching has been a time warp . Hope you visited the great museums, Ann Frank’s house .as well as the monument to us gays .

Now, let me say this about House Boats. I used to rent them in the Keys, and really loved them. I could catch all the lobster I could carry, take it to the dock and car and go back out. Would do that for several days, freeze it all with the host, and take it all back to NC and have Lobster all year long!! Plus, awesome stuff on the water. Nights without lights meant awesome stars at night! Try it out!

how literally insane that i was at the front of magere brug (the white bridge) during the pride parade - in a non-creepy way, i probably walked past that house boat without realising you two were on there :') definitely brings back memories of amsterdam pride, the first overseas pride i went to (coming from sydney's mardi gras, which is a very different experience). hope you both had fun :D

The travel looks great. What you shared was educational and informative. The food was a whole other level of interesting. This was more than a holiday! It was an adventure. Seeing all the gay people gathered was interesting and you met a lot of people. You cannot beat going to gay pride in another country. Good video. Great experience!
