You really think that back when freak accidents were more prevalent, people were more likely to die from a stomach ailment, and spousal abuse was not a crime, murdering your partner was LESS prevalent? Back when it was shameful to divorce, and so many people just tried to move towns and engage in bigamy? Back when it was so much more difficult to prevent pregnancy, and women were property? No.

My ex tried to poison me many times but for some reason nothing killed me,,I did end up in the hospital many times, he was verbally abusive, drank had affairs and finally I told him to leave. He has stalked me and threat ened me on Facebook and in person. I had to tell him I had to move to my Daughter s for health reasons which I did for a while. I'm back home but left my car at my Daughter's. Still I don't feel safe but couldn't continue to live at my Daughter's because it was affecting her marriage.
