Nebraska was angry because two hours before the game Iowa sent the state patrol to disrupt the Fellowship of Christian Athletes prayer. Because apparently Iowa found a tradition where both sides are invited to pray for player safety is offensive to Iowa. And then Iowa got its panties in a bunch and complained in post game press conferences. Lol.
@WashedUpWalkonsАй бұрын
You have been sold a fairytale haha not the context of what happened
@moriartysdemiseАй бұрын
@@WashedUpWalkons Why did Iowa law enforcement disrupt the prayer? So what reason? Nebraska shook hands with every other team on the roster including hated Colorado. Just unprovoked?
@WashedUpWalkonsАй бұрын
@@moriartysdemise The officers were placed there to prevent the thing that happened all over the country on saturday, either team trying to start something where their designated area meets in the middle. No prayer was disrupted, it was simply made to happen elsewhere. They still prayed all the same. Yes, nebraska chose not to shake presumably because of this, but Nebraska also started it by having a routine that leaves the designated area that they are provided
@moriartysdemiseАй бұрын
@@WashedUpWalkonsso it wasn't a fairy tale. I just watched your vid and you confirm this was the reason. So if this wasn't a flex by Iowa, why didn't they not inform Nebraska Coach Brown who has led this prayer for most likely decades, that the center of the field would not be available? What's ridiculous is every Iowa outlet knows this occurred and it pissed off Huskers, yet the post game false narrative is that Nebraska was unjustified and just bad sports. I wish Nebraska had shaken Hands anyway, but the idea that they had no right to be pissed is Hawkeye nonsense.

I don’t know if Matt Ruhl knew ahead of time, but the fact his players thought it was okay not to shake hands speaks to the sort of culture which exists. Maybe it is impossible for coaches these days to police it entirely, though. It is hard to know where that cancer came from inside the Nebraska program, but if Matt Ruhl does not correct it, he’s going to have issues worse than losing. Those are some misguided team captains.

Just a few things to add since this is the last game of the regular season. I don't know if you noticed but Raiola had the ball come out of his hands three times counting the last one. He is just lucky that they didn't call them all fumbled and lucky to get two of f them back. Another point, is that anyone criticizing Kirk should realize that we would have a very dismal record for the last three years without our field general, Capt Kirk. His play call decisions got us through those wins. Field position and defence and special teams. Anyone that thinks we should fire Kirk doesn't know what they are asking for. Just about everyone in D had a great night, and I do mean everyone made at least one great play. I feel like we let KJ down in a few games this year. He should have had a hundred yards in every game, but once again our QB situation. By the way I don't blame Cade for everything. I see other QBs make a bad throw now and then and nobody mentions that but as soon as Cade misses a pass all the jerks out there are all over him. I don't think folks are even thinking about that when commenting on his performance. It will be better in the future but we have to get a pass game working first and I believe Lester will get it done, remember he is working with what was left to him and not much more. Looking forward to a bowl game now.

Nebraska is the best example of a classless organization that is focused on symbolism over substance. They fold and choke whenever they are truly challenged by teams with genuine confidence. Huskers (team and fans) are still fixated in their historic excellence of 20+ yrs ago yet struggling with the reality of mediocrity and fragility. When a team has won 10 of the last 12 its not a rivalry and that is the facts for this game. Shaking the opponents hands is an expectation like standing, taking off our hats and placing hands on heart during the national anthem. Low class lack of sportsmanship and honor for the game is now the reality of the team, Husker fans and the University.

#1 Rhule didnt know about it till after the game. He said thats not how we should do things around here. #2 putting armed troopers to stop a tradition of doing a midfield prayer that iowa was invited to i might add, is a scum move. Thats why iowa is the armpit of america
