This is the 80 inch Husky tool chest combo from Home Depot. I have used this box for about a month in a profession setting.

We all had to start somewhere in this industry. I remember when I first started i got a cheap triple stack craftsman box and 6yrs later im in a Matco 6328 Triple bank. and JSC 480 tool cart. Great review, keep up the good work.

Your so lucky to have a great choice of tool manufacturers in the US. Two thoughts. 1. You can buy locks online, buy a set of 3 with a matching key and change your locks. Will take less than 15 mins. 2. If your tall. Id just lift the whole thing say 100mm and put it on blocks. Or if you must move it round the garage, put spacers between the castors and bottom box. I did this for my brother on his box as he's very tall.

I got the same box I love the fact that it's payed off and rather have a tool payment then a box payment. Before that I had the 44 inch harbor right top and bottom but was running out of room went see the husky box and liked a week later sold my top and bottom for 450 and went and got the husky box on sale for 20 % off because it was the demo one was all they had and I love it but being 6 foot all looking in to different casters for it and with my box having more tools in it then your the soft close dosnt work as well but that doesn't bother me also I just push the drawers closed before locking it

I have been a GM tech for 25 years. I tell all young techs not to waste money on a box. Not a starter, something to keep that let's you keep money in your pocket. Spend it on house, land, save, etc. Don't fall prey to tool truck sales pressure.

That’s awesome! And you’re not far from me. Paul sherry is like 20 miles from where I’m at. I work white Allen. Thanks for the video tour. Will be buying one. I see a bunch of comments saying “good box for a new tech” I’ve been a tech for a while and I think it’s a great box.

If you want to uses the 1” drawers you can grab the cheap plastic wrench rails and cut them down they will fit. I did it with my husky box. I can take a pic and send it to you if you want. Great video
@coltonjacobs53834 жыл бұрын
If you ever want to get good pliers or cutters, don’t bother with snap on products. Get some Klein or Knipex tools. They hold up a lot better and work really well

Ive been looking into this box and trying to find a good review on it, ur videos helped in my decision to go get one, ive run out of room in my hand me down Craftsman triple stack, plus and extra Walmart toobox hand me down

not bad. when i started out i was working out of 26 inch carry box. went from that to a 9 drawer craftsman box, then traded that for a used 2 bay matco box, traded that to my snap on krl box and then added a used matco tool cart. i just changed two of the drawers on my snap on box that were shallow to a deep 4 inch drawer cuz the shallow ones didnt do much for me and the tools i have. losing one drawer to gain a deeper one is well worth. that was $300 just for the drawer.

Does this break into pieces? I live in an apartment and I have a hallway with one room on the left and one on the right. I desperately need a toolbox. So could this break down and be assembled back inside my spare bedroom? I understand I might have to tip things on their sides and slide across the carpet but I'm curious if this could be broken down...

It’s a good box BUT after 1 year in a mechanic shop doing 40+ hours a week the welds will begin to snap and the draws will rub the sides as you pull them out then all the draws will start doing that to the point you really can’t use the box.. And yep I have seen this with my own eyes and YES I’ve seen the mechanics re’weld them just to have more snap.. It 100% get what you paid for.. It a (Home Gamer) box.. Great for new people starting out and for the house and weekend guys BUT I will not stand the test of time.
@ronaldmejia68913 жыл бұрын
I agree, this boxes are for houses only, my coworkers are mechanics and they only use Snap-On, and other $10,000+ tool boxes. But I definitely getting this, I probably gonna open the drawers twice a month. 😃

You should have set the keys up like nesting dolls! Carry the hutch key on your keyring, keep the roll cab key in the hutch, and keep the locker key in the roll cab! That way you only have to carry one and you'll get a process to unlock every morning!

I just started at a Chevy dealership and I’ve been looking at the same box. I’m not too sure if I wanna go with this one or the US general one you can add on to.
@papi-champoo60334 жыл бұрын
If you go with the U.S. General chest go with the 56" box, I have the 44" and when working in a shop you will run out of space. Yeah you can buy the add on's but that's more money you have to spend rather than spending it on tools. I do recommend buying the side locker as the first add on because of blow molded cases and to store your sprays.
@mikearrison98164 жыл бұрын
Chalks October I’ve been looking at the 72” also just to have the space when I need it. I used to have a snap on box but I had to sell it. I can’t afford one now so I’m looking for something budget friendly

Great Video. I noticed that you have the Rigid 1/2 impact. I was thinking about getting that tool but not sure if it will do the work like the Milwaukee will. Can you please review that impact since not a lot of people who work as Tech own them. I myself work as a tech and i used an Air Cat 1150 but I am thinking about going electric.
@McBake4 жыл бұрын
I could probably do that. So far it hasn't disappointed me. Yesterday I had to take some rusty lug nuts off a RAM 5500 had no problem at all.
@stevenbowen27474 жыл бұрын
Hey I also use the Aircat impacts I love had them for over 3 years daily use they hold up great. I just started buying Rigid stuff and I habe not been disappointed. The Rigid 2 drill combo is great I think you get a 4ah and 2ah battery. I have the 1/2 in. Rigid impact gun an it's good too. I just bought the 3 box rolling storage combo and I can't be more happy.

Sweet review... From two demo boxs in my area, the huge huch door gets heavy on the (4x)casters it rides on, Id highly recommend packing greese an check them as you use it more often, found damage on one an real bad damage that the door was removed because it broke an couldnt be used, for the other one I looked at, the other odd thing is the primary box is a 61" & the end locker only fits this box and it primarly bolted to the hutch but the huch is only being held by two "L" type corner braces an four bolts in the rear, maybe make two more an attach them to the front and lastly... Use a sheet of wood for inside the huch for your work serface an maybe a long bord on the top 80" to have other items on top of the box as theres no support for the roof, but just thinkin out load lol

@danieltubbs4584 жыл бұрын
I've tried to tell you, Captain Ron, and Kyle (Rustbelt), all to do what I did because I also have a Husky box and love it, but use either a lift or a forklift to lift up the box. Swap out the wheels on both sides from the the fixed casters to the Husty's heavy duty suspension swivel casters. Don't wait as long as I did bc my box weighed about 10,000lbs when I did it, so do yours now. Also every 3 months take out the drawers and grease the casters and ball bearings, especially if you are already having issues with the soft closing dampening drawers

As a new tech, you're probably just doing oil changes and tire rotations so that box isn't getting a full workout. How is that box going to handle in a year's time when you gain more experience and add more tools, will the drawers support the extra weight?? You might wanna trade it in for something bigger and stronger in 2 to years but you're not gonna get much for it with a big dent on it, you should have taken it back to where you bought it and had it replaced. Do another video around the end of the year and let's see how the box is holding up, 1 month isn't enough. You should have spend a little extra and got a US General box, from what I have read they are built stronger. Are you going to do a video on the roll cart????
@rdevers17684 жыл бұрын
CanadianCharlie64 if anything he will upgrade as needed and take this box home with what he is doing now it's perfect he's doing a little more than oil change and tire rotation from what I've heard but we all have to start somewhere I started out extremely cheap and over time worked myself into a snap-on krl

I've had a husky box for 3 years moved multiple times from college and across the country and it is still just fine. Like anything dude it's all about how you treat it and if you dont abuse it they hold up just fine. Also I worked for CAT and have a shit load of heavy shit in it and it's fine
