The devastation from the hurricane has been tough on millions of us in the South. Part of one of our interstate highways in Tennessee collapsed into the river. @@teenachristy977 Hi Teena. There’s no way to get from TN to NC unless you take back roads, which will take hours. I-26 and parts of I-40 are gone. I’ve got family in upper East TN and they’re ok, but there’s lots of damage. One of my cousins has been in a motel for 2 days because they can’t get back to their home. I’ve got family in Asheville but I can’t reach them…no cell phone service, no power. It’s unreal to be 400 miles from the coast and have hurricane damage. Do you have much damage? My neighbor has a niece in Charlotte. It took her 14 hours to get home.

@Debra.Justice No, not much damage here. A few trees down. Lots of branches. We had more rain. There are lots of power outages here. Thank goodness we didn't lose power. Our front yard collects water from our road, so it was a mess. There was more damage up around Taylorsville. They had to be evacuated. I sure hope you hear from your family really soon. It's just terrible to know there are people cut off. I know the interstate (77) was ponding, and here around Lake Norman, the roads were really flooding. Charlotte flooded. They always flood. It makes travel terrible going into and out of the city. I'm glad to know you are ok.
