@@davidnierzwick2775Personally, I'd still feel really nervous with taking my dog (if he were still with us) on Eurostar or a ferry, onto mainland Europe. It's a lot more hassle & red tape to contend with, since Brexit. And that's while you're still in the UK. Even if everything is in order this end, you need to know the ins & outs of each individual country you visit, to ensure you don't get caught out & your pet isn't taken & placed in enforced quarantine. The legal fees to fight to get your friend back must be eye watering. And covid hasn't gone away either, with some restrictions existing in some countries.

@@tomboychick In most coundtries, as Jamie also says its the vaccine that is important. If you have your dog´s passport up to date, there should be no problem. And you can allways talk with the people in the ambasade to be sure :)

That sounds like fun! I recently travelled across Australia and had to fly my Labradors across, I was so stressed & worried about it and felt so guilty having to put them in a crate & plane, they are my babies. We didn’t have another choice, to drive across Australia would take a week in the outback with nothing in sight for 100s of kms (vs a 5 hour direct flight). Anyway, they had a great time, the crate assigned to each of them was massive, they were in a pressurised section which was the same temperature as inside the plane. Originally they were booked into the 2nd biggest crate but at the last moment they didn’t have them returned so they had to go in the next size down, I thought it was going to be cramped (which only added to the stress) but they were much bigger than I expected, I could’ve put both of them in one. They prefer being together but the airline wouldn’t allow it for dogs over 15kg. They travelled really well, very happy & calm, they weren’t given anything to make they sleepy or calm. I say all that in case anyone decides to fly, my experience was great, dogs were really taken care of the whole way.

@@tree3e it was Qantas, Virgin didn’t have the space for 2 crates in the same flight for the size we originally organised (it was the 2nd biggest, I think PP80. They ended up on the next size down). Virgin flights for that route didn’t have the height & the type of plane wasn’t pressurised for the cargo hold. It was really tricky booking because we needed a direct flight from Hobart to Perth as those aren’t very frequent (twice a week) & I wanted to avoid a stop over for them. The organising part was the headache mainly because of where we were, had we flown from the mainland it would’ve been easier. The pups arrived happy & were unloaded probably before the passengers lol I was going out of my mind with worry the lead up & during the flight, if it was up to me I would’ve bought them tickets to be in the plane lol

My pup gets to go to the vet every month because his weight is right at the border between doses of his heart worm med. He was 42 pounds this month, and the med he takes is for 22 to 44 pounds. Because he gets weighed monthly with nothing else happening but hugs and treats the vets office is one of his favorite places.
