Ode to Husna
A song that stuck with so many of us from the first time we heard it. It takes one back in time to an “Undivided India” where love and brotherhood thrived.
A small tribute by Muskan Chawla & Gulbahaar Kaur to the generation that lived through the partition of 1947 as well as to the creative genius behind this song- @Piyush Mishra.
About the Film-
Years after the partition of 1947 Manraj is reminded of Husna~ the girl he once loved by finding an old ‘Tabeez’. He pens down a letter for her across the border, recalling the separation from both Husna and his homeland.

Partition took so much, especially from Punjabis and Bengalis. My grandfather would tell me stories of Lahore pre-partition, a city rich with culture, diversity, color, refinement. We were robbed of so much, from the time of Alexander to the British Raj, Punjab has been the gateway to India, plundered by all, but at the same time the defender of the greater subcontinent. Our identity is more than just Sikh, Hindu, Mussalman, before the Raj, before Pakistan and Bharat, we were all brothers and sisters, Punjabis.
