That Saw as I am sure others have said is a Professional Fallers Saw and one of the most popular. We prefer the 390XP simply because it's just as powerful. Here is the thing that will most likely surprise you....we Fallers who make our daily living with those saws buy one brand new and it goes straight to the shop, why? you might ask....well we have them ported (engine and exhaust) and swap out mufflers for one that is still US Forest Service Legal with a spark screen but the opening that moves the exhaust gassed from the cylinder or Engine is way bigger and straighter while still giving you the correct amount of back pressure to un-leash every tiny bit of horsepower these saws can make WITHOUT sacrificing durability or dependability. We use mostly 28"-36" lightweight laminated bars with SKIP TOOTH FULL CHISEL chains because while ABSOLUTELY NOT HOMEOWNER OR WEEKEND FIREWOOD GUY friendly at all they are way more aggressive and faster cutting and to us....speed = Money.....the more wood we can get down the more we make. Make no mistake about it these saws are not intended for occasional use....they are intended to be run wide open, 6-7 days a week for up to 10 + hours...we must have that ability or we're not making money. We now own our own logging company so it's twice as important. We also own saws as small as the Auto Tune 550 Mark II saws that are maxed out with a full port job and a 24" bar and Skip tooth chain (but we stay with 20" bars just for ease of movement and weight) for the places where you very seldom run into trees over 40" across the stump...but still even with the smaller diameter Trees alot of us still prefer the bigger saws. So in the end it's all in the hands of the guy or gal running the saw.

From a fellow Masshole as well as a man (minus the stacks, I have a Jeep...), I'd like to say this was the most comprehensive reviews of the 395 on the internet. I would know, I'm not only a tree guy and redneck chainsaw hack, I'm also an owner of an earler version of this very machine. Spot on sir.

I know I don’t need that and I’m looking at a pile of logs the size of a barn! Some are as big as a barn door… I show them in my Frankensplitter video. Loved it!

I'm a home owner, I have ported 084 394 etc etc. Way more power than a new 592. They are absolutely homeowner saws. If you have to turn 3-6ft diameter trees into firewood to heat your house.... power equals time and energy saved. No reason to spend your life fiddle fucking with a stihl 251 weiner saw. If someone needs to trim small stuff.... get the 251.
