Yes they make mufflers for many different saws.

I have never seen any saw increase in performance that much from just a muffler mod. the magic muffler does not seem to be for sale on eBay anymore.

Thanks for the great comparison video Bob! I’m sold, been wanting to try a different muffler on my little 435 to compare against the modded stock one. Do you know if there is a baffle inside the dual port or is it just two pipes into an open can?

The 440 stock muffler looks to be the same as the 450 rancher .

Odd that the same muffler fits the 435, 440, 445, 450. So if the mod works on the 440, it should work even better on the 450.

No cutting was done. Rippa mufflers bolt right on.

I bought an assortment pack from ebay. Husky uses the spline tool in the kit.

I think they went out of business. I can't find any of their products or website anymore. 2 years ago, I purchased a dual port muffler for my Stihl 026 for $46.00, and I love the results. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on it because you can't find them now.

Just taking out the spark arrestor screen does the same thing.😊

Arrestor only doues not open anything if it is clean. The tiny outlet inside is just to small. Grinding out the baffel will help a lot. Did that on my Mc Culloch 410 elite. Witch is the same HQ saw under the hood.

Remember a hole in a muffler is an exhaust leak that losses back pressure. A properly dimensioned tube maintains back pressure.

Yes, the tube is the way to go, not the hole. I can drill, but I can't weld. Now, if you can do both, then it's a no-brainer to make your own. Aside from better performance with the tubes over the holes, they are also more aesthetically pleasing as they have that classic muscle car look.
