Thank you for the excellent video! I agree with Brandon: very helpful when you compared the old sprocket with the new one.

The main thing I like about this video is that you show old sprocket vs new sprocket. In all the videos I watched no one showed that. Thanks!

Thanks this helped heaps. Till I got the rope stuck. Haha My sprocket was broken. All good now. Will go get the new sprocket this week. Mine was only a couple years old. And not that much work. Must have had the chain too tight.

Thank you sir .. because I was unaware of the teeth on the oil cump drive, now mine is stripped/worn down! Im not familiar with a saw but I'm learning as I go, I was unaware because I converted my spike sprocket to a rim sprocket and was unaware of the teeth grove on the oil pump drive.. thank you, now I need a new oil pump drive 😢😂😂 Thank you!!

Thanks for the video. Work well on my 455. Nylon rope is the best when melted at the end.

Excellent video! One question, in your experience is it worth spending the $ on an OE part, or do the no brand replacements work fine? Thanks.

Can I go from a single piece 325 pitch 7T sprocket to a 3/8” sprocket on my Husqvarna 450 X Torque
@magicone93274 жыл бұрын
I am looking into the same thing only on a 350. Plenty of after market parts for doing this. The only thing I haven't found is verification for the sprocket or rim sprocket type engagement to the oil pump drive pinion gear

I have a 50 and it has a nut made onto the clutch. i need to replace the rim sprocket but after using the rope method i stopped out of fear i was going to bend or break something. i put a nice fitting wrong on the cluck and whacked it with a hammer a couple times and it wouldn't come loose . I understand it's a reverse thread and to remove the clutch it must spin clockwise. but it just seemed like more then what it should be as far as tightness goes. I don't want to wreck my Ole saw but i do need to get the parts replaced before i can use it. Have you heard of such a thing as a stuck clutch assembly or am i just overly cautious ? Thank's for taking the time to share your videos.

I dont go thru all that and I replace with oregon rim drive. Will accept .325 or .375 I pull rope out about halfway. Then loop it on handle. Then use big screwdriver and dead blow hammer and usually a good rap and it spins off. And clean off all the stuff he didnt. Put brake lever on or saw on shelf!!! My 2 cents

On the clutch cover is a black plastic retainer held on by 4 screws part No. 503217010. What is the size of those screws?

EXCELLENT video - Thanks for sharing!! BTW: would you know if you can replace the "SPUR" sprocket on a 455 Rancher with a "RIM" sprocket?
@g.d.76294 жыл бұрын
Yes its very easy I did one on jonsered 2255 same saw diff color. Clutch comes off same way med screwdriver and strike the spot on clutch with arrow LEFT hand threads. When you take it all off grease the needle bearing. And get oregon kits those chinese brands are junk. About $20 on ebay!! When you tighten clutch back up cut a piece of wood or tree limb. That will tighten clutch back up good .

What kind of specialty tools do you have to remove the clutch?

Flat screwdriver and hammer. Clutch is marked where to strike it.

You can probably get a very small piece of wire or needle nose very small and get it out. I used plastic airline on jonsered 2252 and was new, piston so sharp it cut the line. after that is when I went to not even taking top off. For all those who wanna know what happened the plastic line slid in exaust autotune ran a while then would only idle. I was flipping out looked like a ball of grease had came out. Turns out the plastic hit exaust screen and was hard blocking exaust. melted with small torch and good as can be. How many shops would have told you it was just the screen on an obviously new saw???? If its happened to anyone was probably me!!!!
@g.d.76294 жыл бұрын
Also if you take muffler off you can prob grab it easy. Dont know why I didnt think of that before.
