This chainsaw stopped oiling the chain and bar, so I am investigating to see if I can figure out what's going on,, I didn't want this video to be long but maybe anyone that has this problem can see how this oiler is put together.

Thanks for putting this video up. I have the same saw and couldn't figure out why my chain was getting loose after cutting for 5 minutes until someone recommended that I look at the oiler. I'm glad you made this, now I can jump into this project and have it done in an afternoon hopefully

For not ever working on that type of chainsaw before you sure hit the nail on the head each time. Good job with the video.

A good project for the afternoon and a success story at that, definitely worth a fish or two. Probably work better if they had the right oil. Great repair and great video. Most people would be afraid to tackle that. Thanks Stevo

as it turned out, the saw belonged to the guy's brother and they both said I can go fishing at their ponds,, so thats' 2 good things.

many years ago I worked on a lot of them but now I really don't care to but this didn't involve much cranking.

You always seem to get the job done - There is an adjustment for the oiler to increase or decrease the amount of oil pumped from the tank. I think the port was clogged as the oil started to flow when you gave it a good shot of air. Good part of this story is you have a new fishing hole - take care my friend - cheers

Yes, I think it was clogged, and after it gets cooler I might go catch some catfish..

Good job. That s a good saw when it works. my saws always get a air leak between the case halves. Hard job for a half blind shaky old man. Thanks for sharing.

I understand, I have to go back up to the hospital next month and no doubt I'll have to get another shot in my eyeball.. that saw actually started pretty easily.

Great job Vernon, I learned in this video because I don't know anything about chainsaws, nice fix and video

I really don't like working one saws, because a lot of the time 2 cycles don't seem to start easy but this one only had the oiling problem.

I have that same saw, never took it that far apart. Nice to know how now.

I guess this one just had a plugged line, it seems to work fine, at least the guy hasn't brought it back so far,,lol

Good job , using old motor oil for bar oil might sound like a good idea but caused a problem here.
@MissouriOldTimer3 жыл бұрын
I guess if a person could strain the old oil somehow, but there could be grit and metal shavings in it right out of the motor it came from

Chain won't last long without oil. The face on that chainsaw 8:53 looked like someone getting a DRE. LOL Great fix.

Stop putting used motor oil in your chain oil tank! That caused your problem! I suggest to read your owners manual! -watt

@@MissouriOldTimer thats good Ive never hap to mess with a husqvarna oiler The only time i ever had to mess with an oiler was on an old poulan 2000 the pick up tube had rotted and broke off if memory serves me right that oiler worked by creating a drawthat drew the oil through the Tube I never was sure if id had fixed it as the saw was just pretty well done at that point

@@GeorgiaRidgerunner I don't think any of these saws has a very sophisticated oiler but then I guess they really don't have to.
