Excellent video 👍👍👍👍I have run chain saws doing production felling and limbing and bucking since 10 years old i am 43 years old now. It would seem strange with a electric saw after running Husqvarna and Jonsred gas saws all the time.I am from northern Minnesota i am not sure how a electric saw would do in below zero weather. I run 20 inch .058 chain on the saws up to 575 Husqvarna and a 24 inch on my 394 Husqvarna for oversize pine and hardwoods. Keep up the great videos.

Mighty impressive Tim. I recently dropped a White Oak with an Atlas 40volt from Hobo-Freight... Although it completed the task, I had to do it in multiple takes due to Duty Cycle and recharging! The bore cut was THE WORST! That Husqvarna you're sporting is definitely in a different league, it appears to be a serious saw and would be ideal in certain circumstances. I have a friend who carves with a Stihl battery saw. Although he likes it, I'm thinking yours is a much more serious contender. Thanks for posting. Bless'ns to ya. Tedd

Excellent review! The battery life might not be ideal for the all-day professional feller but for most home use folks it is more than adequate. I recently fell a large tree and during limbing I had to keep stopping to move limbs out of my way. With gas I would have been constantly stopping and re-starting the saw. With the battery unit I could just pick it up and go.

Mine have 3 power settings using the battery AP500 however with a 16" blade cutting logs that is used about 80% of the blade I just got about 15 minutes cutting time, very short time. Yours seems slower but maybe is better. I hope Stihl comes with a better battery, because the machine itself the MSA300 is a joy and powerful machine.

Logger here. Battery tech has not “come a long way”... the marketing of battery tech has come a long way! The batteries in these saws are just generic Li-Ion cells in series for higher voltages. They still take forever to charge compared to filling up a gas tank. They can’t bore cut like a gas saw either. Chain speeds are lower, so there is a tendency to throw chains. No pro who values their time runs a battery saw as primary. Only for use when noise/fire is a concern.

Battery saws are cool but they are still so far behind gas in terms of power. Ive got the Milwaukee 18V chainsaw and its pretty darn good but it is still weaker than my little 40cc echo by a lot. 1 gallon of gas is bascially worth like 20 battery charges. I love the battery saw and my Milwaukee battery pole saw gets a lot of work done. When it comes to cutting up thick trees and stuff you need gas end of story. I cut up a medium sized tree today with my little Echo 40cc and I wished i had my Stihl 391 on me. WIth the battery saw the job would have been pretty much impossible to do in any reasonable amount of time. Not to mention I would have had batteries overheating left and right.

Loved the small comments - they give live to the video :) I have a few questions. After filming the video (with the borrowed equipment, if remembered correctly), did you go and buy it? If you somehow obtained it, do you use it instead of the gas-powered chainsaws? If it is the start of the day and the equipment is ready for use and you have 30 trees for felling, which chainsaw do you reach for in the truck to start your day? This is the real question? :) I would love it if you answer the question sincerely and honestly :) Thanks! Svetlin
