Awesome saw! I have had for almost 2 years. Zero issues, easy to start and great power! Just buy it. It's worth it for sure!

My 25 year old husky 55 gas cap used to leak. I put silicone sealant on it, that worked for a minute. Replaced the o ring on the cap and that fixed the problem. Just bought the 545 haven’t used it much yet, hope I don’t have the same problem. Oil leak: I would check the oil adjustment screw on the bottom side maybe it’s leaking there. Just FYI.

I've got 2 dolmars that do the exact thing you describe with the fuel. What happens is the tank vent can't actually vent and the fuel tank gets pressured up from being cold outside then going inside to a warm environment. My local dolmar dealer said they nip the edge of the duck bill for the tank vent. It doesn't let the tank vent and fuel is forced into the crack case

On these saws, when they are new, get some assembly lube and wipe one or two drops around the rubber gasket of each cap before screwing it into the tank. It'll help keep them from leaking at the cap.

Juts picked one up, to replace my 435 , I LOVE it as well, have not had any leaky gas issues with mine and it also burns threw like 1/2 the oil as my 435 did as my 435 did leak gas and oil..., think this bad boy will pay for itself in the saved barchain oil and gas,,,,sure once its broken in it will leak they all all do, I just usally try to run them dry before storage... Def love the light weight saw for a 20" Bar

I just bought one about a month ago. Very nice saw! I had a jonsered 2149 before it that I put a 346xp top end on. It ran like a scalded dog but the new husky seems right in line with it factory new.

That is curious about the leaking gas. A lot of saws leak bar oil, and it seems to be a thing with Huskies? My 345 will leak oil, so I make a habit of putting away with next to no oil in it. I have not experienced the issue with gas? How do you store it? Again, I would run it almost dry, before putting it up. It could be a problem with the fuel line, even if it is new? I don't know? Hope you worked it all out. Put a 18 inch bar on it and she will flat out scream! Better balance too. Stay safe! Peace

There is no leakness of oil or gas, if you store the saw on the chain-side! I don't know the reason for it, but it works.

I just picked up a 545 Mark 2 and first couple of cuts were ok -- but then it appeared the chain went really dull -- I filed the chain then tried again and did a couple of cuts and and started going dull again. I was cutting a 15 inch diameter log - and the chainsaw bogs down in the middle - no way it is cutting anything like your chainsaw in your video is cutting. Is there anything special I have to do to use the chainsaw properly? I thought it might be the carburetor - but the manual indicates it has has a auto tune carburetor - so I'm assuming the carburetor is fine.
@wheelinken2 жыл бұрын
That seems odd. The chain on mine stays pretty sharp. Maybe you hit a small rock or something? Buckin billy ray has some good sharpening tips on his channel... might be worth checking out. Otherwise I'd say the saw probably needs more running in. Hope you get it figured out.

Same problem, first few trees were great then all hell broke loose, loose chain, clutch problems, loose bar, dull chain . I got 5 acres to clear. This is a brand new saw, had to mess with it about 15 times. Not impressed
@wheelinken2 жыл бұрын
@@richardwitham5247 sorry but loose chain and a dull chain are user error/maintenance problems. Dunno why youd be having clutch problems on a new saw though. Take it back and get a stihl, but be aware you'll still have to tighten and sharpen your chain

Looking at one of these now but have not made.my mi e up I have a 455 rancher with compression release does this saw have the company release and looked at the specs showed my saw the 455 has 3.5 he and this saw has the 3.6 he but the speed of.thw 455 was 9600 and it said this one was 3900 wasn't sure about that any thoughts

This saw does not have nor does it need a compression release, it's very easy to pull. Dunno about the rest.. saw rips and I love it.

@@wheelinken ok thank you well I bought it it seems to take more pulls then my 455 to start 455 pull it once with choke and once with choke off and it's running this one seems to take a couple more pulls and if it sets for 30 mins or so have to use the choke again don't really care for that but so far I love it thanks for this video

If you can, invest some time and money on how to work with a chainsaw course. Get oit of the kickback line of the blade, I van see you hang over the chain! Once the working ergonomics are known, also get some: -eyeprotection -hearing protection -helmet with faceguard -sawpants -sawboots -workgloves
