Just bought this model for 2019 Michigan winter. Already had several storms including the polar vortex storm with -28 degree air temp and -40 wind chill ; LOVE the electric start !!! Absolutely NO problems with the 4 foot tall hard packed drift that was 24 feet long across my driveway and turn around. Best purchase ever !!!

I liked how far mine would throw snow but not much else. The auger would jam from small branches from the trees plus gravel from the driveway. The operating cables would freeze up from snow melting and seeping into the cable housings.. I would let go of the controls and it kept going on its own.I had a unheated shed for it and sometimes I wouldn't even try to use it but went back to the snowfloat. During late January and into February it wasn't uncommon for -20 celsius temps.

Full width for the 1st pass only , then 1/2 width for subsequent passes. Makes a clean sweep. Snow that falls will usually stay in the housing, snow that goes over the housing will get picked up on the following pass. Easier on the machine and the operator.

Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. kzbin.infoUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.

The problem is they farm out their snowblowers to a company called AYP. They aren't the worst machines, but you would have to know exactly the features you want and where the design weaknesses are to know which models will be less problematic than others. And I don't know how much of a premium you might pay for the Husqvarna name over other blowers built by AYP. I do know they did make a high end machine they targeted toward competing with Honda. They might have spent enough to make that a good machine, I dunno. I know they started experimenting with a cast impeller, something I've never seen on another blower. I'm curious to see how they'll hold up and what will happen when/if it fails.

@@grsolutions3607 I think when something works good for somebody, they made the right choice. ;) I hafta share a buddies story, tho. He is a super fan of their chainsaws, so he bought one of their branded blowers without looking into them. The problem is he lives in the woods where debris from trees is a common problem. He broke a couple gearboxes and realized it just wasn't the machine for him, so he sold it and bought an Ariens. However, Huskie has an optional deflector extender (you can see the holes for it in your deflector) and he liked that so much he had one custom made for his Ariens, lol.
