Back from a 900 GP to a 125. That’s the true spirit of motorcycling! 👍

I'm planning on looking at a bike such as this and I've done some fair research. Seems like this bike is mapped in such a way to "break in" the bike within the first few hundred miles, and as such there is an automatic rev limiter built in, cutting out revs in the higher gears causing the lack of power. As you mention, it's a nippy little bike so the sudden disappearance of power in the higher gears comes a shock, but it's likely due to the limiter. From what I've seen, the bike is due it's first service around about the 600~ mile mark. At which, you want to try getting the bike to a servicing spot that knows how to remove the limiter on the bike. As far as I've heard, you can manually do so on the bike but it's not recommended to try it yourself and I'm not educated enough to know the specifics of why. I've seen many owners of the bike suggest the same scenario, that once the limiter was removed the overall power of the bike seemed to have more oomph and that the exertion in higher revs allowing for higher speeds up to around 65 mph and possibly up to 70~ downhill with good winds.

I was surprised by your speed test. I have one of these with virtually the same amount of miles on it and it will rev out to 11 no problem. I am still in 4th into the 50s when I want to get a move on. I'm not saying it's the fastest as I have nothing to compare against. But your experience does not match my own. I concur that actually hitting 60 does not come easy but up to 55 it's good.

Weight does play a part as well. I’m quite heavy which might account for the difference?

Where's the love for the ZONTES brand, there was a GK125 behind that Voge. I got the blue ZT125U and I think its better than all them bikes but that's my preference.

I just picked the first 2 I seen. I would have been there for another hour pointing at bikes that are better value and new. I would pick the Zontes over this husky. 👍

Has that husqvarna been derestricted? When they have low miles they are limited to 52mph before the restrictor is taken off after a service

Thanks for the review. How does this compare to the XSR125? The Yamahas seem to hold their price better..
@GillyBikes
@GillyBikes 2 ай бұрын
They do hold their price if you buy a used one. It’s the new ones that lose all the money. I’ve not had chance to ride an XSR 125 yet. I’ve seen In2moto have one so hopefully I will get a go soon. I’ve been on quite a few mt125’s and I have to say they are much better to ride than one of these.

@@GillyBikes Good video. Yea , I reckon thats restricted. I am a XSR 125 owner. Bought new, my first bike . "Mature owner " ha . I weighed up a lot of brands , and actually strongly considered the little Husky. Great looking futuristic , ......neo retro ? And the Benelli. I went for the Yam , despite the hefty premium over the cheaper brands , on account of the likely reliability , and a local dealership , Wigan Yamaha actually. Its been faultless , and now has 12000 on it . ( apart from rusted spokes ( legacy model ) which is another story...). Ive just watched your review as my son is about to take delivery of a new Svartpilen 125 , so I might get a direct comparison.

The bike is let down by the monstrosity of a rear end , naff bar end positioned mirrors & next to useless attempt at a front mudguard. It doesn’t matter how good a bike performs , I could never purchase a motorcycle with a chopped off rear end & tacky bitza rear mudguard hanging off the swing arm . I don’t know what possesses some motorcycle manufacturers to choose this hideous style of rear end , as it looks like a tacky bodged afterthought .
