Twowheels I plan to buy one but I ride dirt roads every day for 6 to 10km did You tried the bike on dirt, not extreme just normal riding?. Thanks

@@richardmaximo2260 I've not tried it on dirt roads but with 150mm travel (albeit quite stiff) , light weight and wide bars reckon it would be OK on forest access roads etc. Anything rutted or too rocky and you'd struggle I reckon

TwoWheels OneLeg thanks much for the reply, nothing radical really, just like you said forest roads with a bit of mud in the winter and some sand all year around,it s close by the ocean, I will change the tires and it should be fine 🙂👍🤘, enjoy that beauty and please if you find the time share with us your opinion on the bike 😜.

@@richardmaximo2260Some background for context. I've owned and ridden a lot of ADV bikes my other main rides are an Indian Dark Horse and Svartpilen 401. I traded in my Tracer 700 for the 701. Being a new model I didnt get to test ride the Svartpilen 701 but did spend a day with the Vitpilen 701 Some early thoughts The engine is a real gem, manageable and civilised at lower revs the fueling seems spot on, quite high geared and likes to rev, above 6k it really howls. Its smooth for a single, you never forget you're riding a single but its a very modern feel. The last single I owned was a 2001 KTM duke2 and this feels a completly different thing altogether Brakes, suspension and chassis are as good as it gets, I may have my new bike tinted glasses on but its the best handling bike I've ridden. Light flickable but planted. Today I rode through a set of fast corners with a a bumpy undulating surface, a stretch of road I last rode at speed on the Tracer 700. The Tracer was a little upset and the suspension tied itself in knots a wee bit. The 701 was planted and stable. Riding position slightly more relaxed than the 401, handlebars a wee bit further back. The seat is more comfortable than it appears in the first pics I saw, its wider than the 401 seat I think the Vitpilen 701 probably turns a little quicker having a smaller front wheel and you're over the bars a little more. I reckon if you have a history of sport or sport touring bikes you'll prefer the Vitpilen but ADV/dirt bike riders will prefer the Svartpilen At this time the only dislike I have is the dash, its the same as 401 and bearing in mind the parent company KTM does some very nice tft screens the 701/401 dash looks and feels a little cheap, However I can live with it

TwoWheels OneLeg thanks for the reply🙂👍. This bike is going to be my first single, always had twin and four. I still have a fz1 and a bullit for day by day, the bullit works well on the dirt but not good for medium rides on road. Going to see the bike tomorrow and will wait to test ride it, I saw it in Milan was very impressed. Tried also the fantic caballero 500 very nice bike to, a single very purist, difficult to get used to it, will see 🙂🙂👍🌞 thanks again, and enjoy the black arrow 😜.

Excellent video! So unexpected. I started looking at this bike because there is a 2020 Svartpilen 701 with 2, 100 miles, heated grips, tank and side bags available for 9,999 dollars. I live in the U.S. Do you think this is a good deal. It appears that they have discontinued this bike, so I am concerned about that. This video was made sometime ago, so I hope you are still checking your channel and respond. Thanks

Lovely styling but similar power to the 790, that's got a 105bhp, 30bhp more than the husky

And twice on Sundays. That steam engine train headlight and those mag wheels are hideous. Plus, the all black would be okay sometimes if the weird lines didn't make it look like a rejected Lego block.

Hi Bennetts Bike, nice ride... :D And good review of course! Have seen here ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6bSZGOBbdd4i9U&t=480 ) that your ABS/Traction Control lights are flashing when you are riding. It's the same with my Vitpilen 701. Does somebody know if these lights are some kind of "a bit nervous" or if this is an issue with the bike? (I sometimes after a ride get a message like "TC failure" when switching of the bike... - Is also this normal or an issue with the electronics?) P.S.: On my Vitpilen the ABS light sometimes flashes when I'm riding without breaking...
