Great Video.... I recently purchased a new 2023 Husqvarna TS354XD to replace my 20 year old Kubota T1460 that had a 12.5HP Kawasaki engine and a 40" deck. The Husqvarna's 54" deck is overkill for my yard but it makes quick-work of cutting our lawn. My Husqvarna TS354XD does NOT have the reserve tank valve. I questioned Husqvarna in an online chat and they did not provide a answer as to why not. My guess is they eliminated it to save production cost. I also noticed my deck does not have Zerk fittings on the spindles. The holes are there but the nipples are missing, so I will install those. And there was one mismatched bolt on the frame. I contacted Husqvarna and they mailed two bolts to me. When it arrived the front wheels were toed in and the deck was badly out of adjustment. The seat switch is way too sensitive for thin or lightweight drivers. Move slightly off center and the engine cuts-off. The big tires have plenty of grip and dig in where my little Kubota used to spin the wheels. It has a differential lock but so far I have not had to engage it. The deck does a great job BUT it is HUGE. I swapped out the side discharge chute and high-lift blades for a mulch kit which makes the overall width 6 inches narrower. I've only put 4 hours on the clock so I'm still watching for potential issues or adjustments. Once I find and install a suitable hitch I'll be using the new Husqvarna more often. The Kawasaki engine is plenty powerful and they are known for their dependability. Kawasaki was the big draw for me over other garden tractors that use a Briggs or a Kohler engine.

I've had mine for almost a year (15 Hrs.) & when I saw the valve under the seat on the fuel tank I had to go out to the shed & look to see if I missed mine, ..... Nope I don't have one, but the tank has the indentation for one if I wanted to put one on, that I will not likely do, but maybe. :) I also don't have the extra locking rear end like you. But I really like mine they are made like the older Craftsman were made before they started to make them with MDF or what ever you call them. Mine is also the 54" looks almost just like yours. And I don't use the water underneath, I even took off the water connector, & I lift mine up & paint & / or spray oil it after I clean it, not every time but once in a wile, & I don't cut when the grass is wet, well I try not to. I did take off the shoot guard, cover because it was just so long out there, I want to some how cover the cutting blade a little, but I do cut in some tight places & need to go through some gates opening on my land. I just have to be more careful when dogs or anyone comes around, & never reach down to pick up anything on the right side.

I've had mine for a little over a year now. Got it to use it for the "lighter" stuff I would normally have to use my tractor for, I would have to disconnect my implements every time I would need to use, say, my 4'x8' trailer (HF wannabe) or smaller ground engaging equipment, etc. Things I like, Good power, like any hydro transmission ALWAYS raise the rpms up when pulling/hauling anything heavy. I Like the “Posi” rear axle for the wet/muddy area's of our property, you will under-steer on sharp corners tho. Bumper is strong enough to pull your wife out of the mud when she forgets to use the “Posi” switch. Seat is comfortable. It has a cup holder/tray. The gas tank is like my JD 155c as in it’s just an open spot on the frame where you can see the gas jostling around in the clear plastic tank instead of a gas gauge, I’m used to it now so I actually like just taking a quick look to see just how much gas I have left. The deck wash does work fairly well if you do it right after you mow (lowering the deck to the lowest settings seems to work the best), just let it run for a few minutes to get most of it off then let it run a bit more to dry it off and all is good. Myself I use a my tractor to raise the front end up and pressure wash the bottom each time, just don’t aim where the blades attach as that’s where the bearings are. Blow the dust/grass off the top with your Leaf Blower. Things I DON’T like: The arm rests keep falling down, there are no stops. The seat adjustment is a bit of a pain the way it’s set up, it’s really not that easy to move it forward or back. I’m over 6’ and the wife is barely 5’6”. I just squeeze in if I have to use it. The numbers on the deck height adjustment WILL wash off if you spill gas on them, the ink is not gas/oil proof. You won’t be able to put tire chains on without removing the deck as there’s only about 1/4 to 1/2 inch space between the tires and mower deck. Supposedly Husqvarna’s grass catcher sucks green pepper unless you have a dry golf course like lawn. Way too many bad reviews for me to buy it. When cutting the lawn it’s fairly loud, you will have to use ear protection. Not sure why it’s twice as loud mowing as my JD 155c, it’s like a low harmonic type loud. Using it for anything else is actually fairly quiet whereas my JD I pretty much use ear defenders all the time, mowing or other wise. I was hoping the mower deck on this “HD large Garden Tractor” would have a taller clearance when parked at the highest setting but it’s no better than any other mowers I’ve had. I was able to mount this “multi hitch” (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0946GNXNM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) (which is awesome) with no problems , I did make my own upper brackets tho, (the original ones would have worked) I connected them to a set of holes on the side instead of drilling.

Nice presentation. I just bought a TS354XD, but have not received it yet. It is replacing an older cub cadet (same price- GT2000. Earlier GT caught fire as I was raking leaves. (destroyed) I really wanted power steering as I am 71. Like the locking differential as I have a bunch of exposed roots that I occasionally slip on. Hoping I like the 54" deck and hope it fits in my stone home built tractor shed w/ enclosed lean-to for my kubota. I sold my Kubota's mower deck as it doesn't have power steering. My old CC deck is 42-44". Have aprx 2 acres to mow, but a lot of trees & hilly ground (live in rural mountains) so didn't want a tippy zero turn mower. (yet) I do use a snow plow on an old dedicated 4wd xterra, (drive a 4wd '23 toyota tacoma) troy built snow blower (with tracks - which I really like) for dog trails and back-up. Got rid of my unused 2x cub snow thrower. I also have a 20 year old diesel kubota loader B series which works well for spreading stone / rocks/ back-up snow removal and moving heavier items with bucket clamp on forks. This was hard starting until I replaced the glow plugs (which everyone said not-to-bother with) Mixed reviews on the Husqvarna, so I hope I like mine, I will keep the cub in reserve.

Kawasaki engine plus a k66 locking differential transmission plus fabricated deck. Damn good combination. The equivalent John Deere is probably in the upper x300 or lower x500 series. Cub Cadet's highest end XT2 is close but it has a kohler.

I constantly replace parts on my Husqvarna. I love the cut and nothing is really hard to replace, but that's the truth. I will say I cut 15 ac and I have the GT52xls which has the better parts and a servicable transmission.

Change out all the bushings for bearings before anything gets sloppy and add the updated brackets for the rear frame ears that bolt to the transmission. . Or at least keep a close eye on them.

I've had mine for 5 years. I really like it. The only issue is with the LED headlights. Rarely do they both light up....mostly it's the left side one that doesn't work. If I jiggle the connector or take it off and put it back on, sometimes it works. Anyone else with this issue?

I bought mine in Sept 23, I have 14 hours on it. Deck was way out of adjustment. I replaced the nuts on the deck adjustment with regular nuts. The lock nuts were starting to gall the threads. I replaced with two regular nuts. I make the deck adjustments, then tighten the jam nuts. Also the seat I have has a different design. I'm 5' 8", but have legs on the shorter side. I could not really reach the brake pedal very well. I put a piece of an old knee pad wrapped around the left brake pedal with zip ties. This allows me to reach it a little better. Also the seat would not adjust far enough forward FWD, so I ground the two FWD slots to allow the seat to pull FWD more. This allowed me to reach the brake pedal. My seat design, and the adjustment are totally different than the one shown here. I don't have the reserve fuel set up. I installed a fuel shut off with a Briggs and Stratton 1/4 fuel shut off where the fuel hose comes out of the fuel tank. I put brass T before the fuel filter with another shut off. This allows me to drain the fuel from the fuel tank if I let the fuel sit too long. I run stabil in everything with non alcohol fuel. I have never had to rebuild a carb on anything I have owned, 35yrs. I filled about 10 holes on the deck with carriage bolts. I put them into the deck from underneath, with locking nuts on top the deck. I also removed the bolts that hold the belt gaurd cover bolts, ground them down so they don't protrude from the deck so much. Makes grass less likely to catch/clean on deck. The deck clean out works fairly well. I'm going to try to install som flip lever 1/2" bilge plugs to hold the 2 black side panels on at the bottom. The plastic push pin that holds them on is fine. Until you need to remove the panel. Then it is a pain to get the plastic push pin out. I also highlighted with a bright colored paint pen the little slide hooks that engage the black side panels to the black metal panels. They slide down/hook on the back of the black metal panels. But they are very hard to see. After painting the slide guides/holes, they are much easier to hook in/slide down. Other than that. I'm pretty new to the mower. I'm going to change out the trans fluid at 50 hours. That should be a fun job. This mower is my retirement gift to myself. I have maybe an acre + to mow, but very challenging terrain. Good luck all.

Fab deck very heavy. When mowing across slopes, it will drop on one side and cut uneven. Weight also makes it difficult to level the deck. Supposed to have a max cutting height of 4.5". Can barely get 3". Stamped light deck would be better. Also engine smoked bad on startup. I replaced with 20w50. Much better. Transmission great. Steering great. Drinks gas. High lift blades can be too much. Causes a lot of dirt/ dust. Will try mulching blades to see if that helps. Transmission is by far best part of this mower.

Surprised to see all of the positive comments regarding this tractor. I have one of these and when people ask me what I think of it I use a one word decription, "junk". There is nothing I like about this machine, The cut is horrible. When you engage the blades it shakes to the point you think something is going to fly off the machine. The deck gives the impression that it is too heavy for the tractor. Give me my old Craftsman. Craftsman always takes a lot of criticism, but they are far superior to this machine.

My current Craftsman, a T110 is junk. At only 3 seasons of 1 acre mowing I’ve had to completely rebuild the mowing deck and half the steering components on it. After all that it still doesn’t cut very well. New belts, blades, and leveled deck. Single cylinder briggs is underpowered and has a lot of vibration to it.
