HUSQVARNA VIKING EPIC 980Q: PRESSER FEET

Some how I found you. I just purchased a used Viking Designer Diamond and had no idea about the presser feet. First, thank you for a very simple and informative introduction to the various feet. Secondly, I just want to note how down to earth and genuine you are. Truly a breath of fresh air in a world of KZbinrs who over edit for perfection. You weren’t phased at all when you ran into a couple hick ups and I especially liked the fact that you didn’t edit them out. Thank you Brittany for showing me a new version of the Viking machines. My machine was a Viking I bought in 1986. Something broke inside my machine where the cord enters and the cord itself is degrading. I have been without my machine for 11 months. I can't afford a new one or even an used one right now. I am borrowing my daughter's brother right now. I enjoyed this video because....an old girl can dream!!! God Bless

Thank you for taking the time to make & post the vid. I'm a long time Viking owner disappointed at the lack of info at the Viking site for putting their feet into action. It was cool to see a teflon foot in action, I've had one for years but never needed it. Note to everyone watching, a blind hem foot takes practice before you sew on your fashion fabric. You can use a plain regular zig zag stitch with a blind hem foot, so your machine doesn't necessarily need the special blind hem stich to work with a blind hem foot.

I have a Singer/Janome now, and a thirty year old Viking. I really like the way the feet slip onto the Viking, they have been using it since at least 1995, it is an excellent design. Nice presentation!

Great video - just one correction. It’s a quilter’s quarter inch piecing foot not a “piercing foot”. It gives a 1/4” seam for piecing the top of a pieced quilt (as opposed to an appliqué quilt).

- Good job. You can make a guide for the fold by gluing together popsicle stix or tongue blades then placing double sided tape to the bottom. It helps. Thanx for sharing. I've owned my Viking since 2000 & love it.

A good in depth presentation of the presser feet. Just for your information the keyhole buttonhole you stitched out is generally used on coats and jackets, the button sits in the hole when the garment is closed. I have a Viking Orchedia purchased in 1990, and 3 Bernina sewing machines. All machines stitch beautifully. Having watched your sewalongs recently I'm inspired to start dressmaking again.

SpicerSunrise Lions hi. Okay I’m gonna try my best to put it in words to explain it. Apologies for not adding that in. So if I’m installing a zipper using a regular straight stitch. On the touch screen, at the bottom of the stitch line, it’s a plus and minus button that you can push that will move the needle over to whichever side you need it. I hope I explain well for you to understand! ❤️

Yes if you’re sewing a straight stitch, you can change the needle position from the center to the left or right and sew the stitch.

Found it. The help screen at the bottom was covering up the + and - for needle position. Your clue about it being at the bottom of the screen put me on the right path to find this valuable feature.

If you want to demonstrate how to finish the edge of a seam, then sew on the edge of the fabric.
