What a great little tip, I picked one up a few weeks ago, so far so good. I did notice, if I shut the engine off from higher rpm straight away it was harder to start, Now when I hit the killswitch I wait for the saw to go back to idle before shutting it off and I notice it starts so much easier every time. When they're running they are little beast's.

Thy for sharing this clip. Safed the new saw i got today. I could hear the gas boil in the body! Now i did place inside some carbonfiber tape and some special insulation to keep the carburator and the fuel line cold. Works like a charm! Now the saw is a small beast!

For all 562/550 owners remember to read manual. With these saws one needs to flick on/off/choke switch up and down after shutdowns during use. Thanks for good info.

Thanks mate . stumbled across this video having the same issue with a Stihl MS 311 . I was thinking my saw was vapor locking after 3 tanks of full hard running , I wasted so much time on the day so will definitely inspect the fuel routing and how i can insulate my saw. Confirms my suspicions ...cheers
@Andyshine774 жыл бұрын
Make sure your fuel Is fresh preferably non-ethanol. If you don't burn that much fuel a year, the canned fuel fuel has a more stable vapor pressure and will help prevent vapor lock.

hard to test consistently. we have been doing this for this summer and seems to help. at least I am mot seing as many saws back with starting issues. but this summer has been cooler as well. so hard to say. I figure 5 min and it can't hurt.

Been quite warm here the past week, the 562 didn't like it one bit, so far the insulation seem to have made a pretty big difference. Time will tell, as you said it's well worth the the small investment.

For $750 you shouldn’t have to add a makeshift heat shield...
@fearlyenrage Жыл бұрын
indeed. It had been should obviously that in warmer climate the saw will heat up the carburator. But good we can add upgrades to machines.

Been looking online at which Husky to get to replace my very old one. The 562xp has SO SO many negative reviews from annoyed customers. Love Husqvarna, but hope they are taking note.
@Andyshine774 жыл бұрын
They have. An updated 562 is being released as I type this. The last 562's have been pretty reliable the updated model will likely be very reliable. The 562 and 550 were not thoroughly tested before they were initially released, I believe husqvarna rushed them to market yeas before they were ready, they lost a lot of respect in the process.

Husqvarna says if you pump the primer six of seven times it will pass cool fuel through the cab and it will start. Haven't tried it yet, but it makes sense. Shalom, gw

Always worth a try. But that only works is the check valve in the carb still functioning, unfortunately when the carb is hot the valve often stops functioning.✌

Doesn't work I'm watching this video after cutting a load of wood yesterday and about pulling my shoulder out of socket getting it started throughout the day I'm very disappointed paid over 800 dollar's for it should start no matter what Should have just taken my trusty 462 Husqvarna dropped the ball on this one mine is a 2020 version too and it still does it don't get me wrong it's a cutting lil sob with a 28 and full comp though

If the carb is still getting too hot, drill a bunch of holes in the cover above and around the carb, some have had good luck doing so. I agree should happen.

Got 2 572 and 595 xp's. Trick to start them warm: pull choke, pull rope out slowly, put choke back in and pull. Fires right up.
@Andyshine773 жыл бұрын
My 572 starts with one pull when warm, no choke or height idle needed. The 550 and 562 over heat which causes vapor lock, which means fuel does not get up to the carb. 595? I assume you mean 395, which is based on a 30 year old design, no AutoTune on the 395.
@anman4243 жыл бұрын
@@Andyshine77 oops I did mean 395. Fwiw mine are stock and did this right out of the box years ago. I've given same advice to ppl with different smaller saws and it works. I never sat and timed it out what would be hot vs warm. I always considered hot as when it would start in one pull.
@Andyshine773 жыл бұрын
@@anman424 No problem. Yes a warm saw running properly should always start in one pull, maybe two here and there. The issue with the 550 and 562 series of saws is that the design was not fully tested, and in warm weather especially would run much too hot, this caused the fuel to turn to vapor in the fuel line and carburetor. When this occurthe saw will not get fuel, and thus not start. It's a known issue and Husqvarna was making small changes, like extra venting, rerouting fuel lines and so on. In the end the 550 series was completely redesigned, and the 562 revamped for 2021. The 572 employed what they learned with the earlier models, and it is a good reliable saw. Husqvarna hurt it's reputation making us customers beta testers, the design simply was not ready for production, QC was suffering at the time as well.

The 562 is a 16 model, nothing on that model has been changed in the last year. The 550 is a 14 model and has had many changes and updates. I owned a 261 and it is better designed, and put together saw IMHO.

Ethanol fuel boils at a lower temperature than non ethanol fuel. Use none ethanol fuel if possible. Outboard motors had the same issues about ten years ago. My 550 is a bastard to start hot or cold.

I use non E fuel in all my handheld equipment. The new 572 was designed to control heat better and has better fuel mapping for easier starts. The 550 mark II has these upgrades as well.

I bought one several months ago it it a piece of crap, will not start hot, along with other problems, had it back to dealer 2 times and no help. I finally just gave up and put it up. You're welcome. The newest production run are pretty reliable, if you have a good dealer you trust and the price is right I would buy one. That said the Stihl 362 is a more proven model and very reliable. A money saving alternative is the echo CS-590 or even the pro version the 600. The only drawback with those models is the weight and size, which is on par with most 70cc saws. Last but not least of you jav3 the cash grab the Stihl MS462, same weight of a 60cc saw but is a little over 70cc, but it doesn't come cheap.

Half choke,5*primer bulb,dont use decomp it will start everytime.
@Andyshine777 жыл бұрын
That doesn't work. The problems here is vapor locking do to heat. Heat is a known problem with these saws, Husqvarna says the new 562 has improved cooling, and a better heat shielding between the cylinder and carb.
