It's an optional class (carpentry) in many schools in the USA. It's not required and not something everyone wants to do. And that's ok.

Firstly, it broadens the horizons of children, secondly, it will be more difficult for these children to deceive when they buy or hire workers to build their house, and thirdly, who told you that this is not what everyone wants to do when all of them even have no idea about it. Well, if everyone wants to jump from the window of a skyscraper, will you jump with them too ???

If they wanted a normal life, then the state would help them get out of this situation. Or good people would help. You know, I am sure that if a normal, adequate, educated and not lazy person became homeless, then he would not be able to disappear in a big city. Everywhere there is work, food and overnight.
