Great video…as usual. The humor ALWAYS owns me and is really appreciated! I’ll defend you to the end, Henning! And this Blackhole reverb is still - to me - the benchmark for ambient reverbs. And by that I mean the quality of the Eventide algorithm. Even if I add a NightSky or a Ventris , this will still remain on my board. It’s just that good.

We Kant take any more of your philosopher jokes, Henning. :D Another wonderfully detailed pedal review. I do believe you're going to cost me more money. Again.

I like that they included gravity, this would be very helpful to Poo Ninja when rocking out on the Death Star...

The plugin is awesome, the pedal is too. Working great also with synths. The price is friendly. 5 stars

Best way to set the gravity knob is to turn it up until you start floating and then dial it back a hair.

Hey I didn’t hear Any shimmer on the black hole. On this video or any. I can’t believe they do not have a shimmer ? It is still awesome and it shimmers without it. But seriously , do they even have a shimmer feature on that thing ?

Pretty pretty pretty awesome pedal... can't do that sounds with an HX Stomp! Might have to sell some pedals and get this thing! Man... now.. to predict how many hours I will lose playing with this thing and I mean lose in a good way! 😎🎸✌️

I can't seem to find it in a german store. This is a shame. This is one of the few pedals that sounds ridiculously amazing that I would like to buy it on an impulse after watching Pete Thorns and your demos. Since I regard myself as an average guy I may not be alone with that impulse. So if you are reading this, Eventide: I would want to buy it now, preferrably from Thomann.

It sounds to me like it almost always has too much high end in the reverb signal. Does anyone else notice this? I am interested in this sound and this pedal in particular, but I am pretty much yet to hear a demo without too much top end. I like it a bit darker, less shrill plus it sits in the mix better (with guitar). There is eq, but I am not sure what the range is for that Hi knob.

A bit late but I suppose your guitars tone knob would help with that
@stuartchapman51712 жыл бұрын
I agree, quite shrill. I bought one the other day, I've tried it with synth and spoken word amongst other things. A very brittle sound. On spoken wird its almost impossible to remove the clean signal, which doesn't sit well in the reverb, whilst the words are intelligible. In afraid its going back to the store. Its a shame I've been searching for a all, stereo, easy to dial high end reverb for a long time.

@@stuartchapman5171 Hey, man. I've settled on GFI Specular Tempus. It works great on guitar and synth, too. Can be subtle, or really big. It is midi, stereo, compact, has dry kill, easy to use + has pc/mac editor. So many algorithms that sound really good. Can't recommend it enough! Check out their Specular Reverb v3 if you want simpler design with less options for less money.

do you need a tube amp to sound good at the moment I have a solid state amp ?????????????????????????????????????????????????
@stuartchapman51712 жыл бұрын
I have a small valve head, a all chip (digital) amp and a cab with a 12" driver. If I use a Tube Screamer pedal on the chip amp it sounds identical to the tube amp being driven hard. There are many Tube Screamer clones out there, with improved eq controls.

It's not just for mixer. It's primarily for synths, in fact it's one of the few pedals which Space Ambient and Drone/Soundscapes music composers like so much because it works with stereo synths AND it can drone so well. I almost feel like in most instances using something like this for a mixer would be misusing it. Most mixers have FX sends/FX receives, or are capable of FX of their own and generally one would need a much more simple reverb pedal for a mixer. For example if you're mixing drum sounds and guitar sounds, - you'll get away with a simple Behringer Stereo Reverb Pedal. There's really not much of a point spending over $300 on something this capable to be used in a mixer. This is a tool to create luscious, otherworldly, psychedelic sound equally well with a guitar or with a synth.
