wow this channel is crazy. i'm going to watch every single video, why did I not find it earlier?

Thank you for this in depth review in practical optics! I wish your channel to rapidly grow. I've used the identical spherical mirror expansion of a filament light source for Schlieren photography with great result.

From 14 minutes to 4 seconds. An impressive improvement.

Hello. Can you tell me if there is any material or shape that only lets light pass through it in 1 direction, i.e., paralel rays of natural light? Thanks.

Would a fresnel lens work for this scenario?
@HuygensOptics
@HuygensOptics 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, a fresnel lens could also work in this application.

@@HuygensOptics for this size, frensel lenses are quite cheap on taobao or aliexpress!

I'm not I to optics but electronics. Although I do own a telescope. I find this a very interesting video. Along with some of your others. Bedankt.

Instead of using a photomask, could you simply use a large format glass negative and make a photographic print at a really tiny scale? Also is it possible to turn the lens around to use it for enlarging instead of demagnification?
@HuygensOptics
@HuygensOptics 3 жыл бұрын
Both things are possible. However, (de) magnification would only be 5x.

Thank you for this nice video and simple explanation. Is the LED really monchromatic at 405nm that does not cause any chromatic aberration?

The best lenses eventually have parallel rays of light, hitting the sensor. Rectilinear optics leads to the best image that professionals seek. In focus from the center to the edge.
