This is why i bought an oscilloscope to see what everything is doing. An oscilloscope has become a valuable tool. It takes awhile to learn how to use its functionality. I definitely no master of it, but the more i learn the more the information has become valuable

How to troubleshoot hvac controls with it?

Also you should get a signal generator. I have one and its not something i use everyday......but I use it enough to make it worthwhile to own. They are relatively inexpensive

Very cool,also very smart so if it works that way u know the heaters are ok,

Yes sir 0 to 10 volts DC is needed to control this heater so if you don't have a DC power supply/ controller. Do this for testing and temporary operations

Does this method of testing apply to other type of SCR as well like Thyristor/Diode Module (Powerblock) Type and Puck Type SCR ? So can apply the battery voltage to fire the gate in order to on the SCR ?
@D2DNYAC6 ай бұрын
Possible however you would need to know the gate voltage range
@jasonjohnsonHVAC6 ай бұрын
The puck style needs downward pressure to enable the gate to fire
