I've seen some remarkable tape jobs in my day,but I think that's the first for me seeing tape on a pvc flue. That must be that new carbon monoxide rated tape.

i got a call from a customer to change out a sink faucet and drain. Taking the drain out, i realized that instead of plumbers putty, they used liquid nails. Never thought a grinder would be in my plumbing bag.

I get that using duct tape for that is not good. But what about using a Fernco no-hub rubber connector with screw clamps? I would think those would work well. Of course they are several times more expensive than the correct PVC coupling.

wtf is that shit show holy moly using mastic to seal a pvc vent pipe and idk if anyone else noticed but that pipe said not rated for pressure so it’s not schedule 40 pvc…yikes

Yes, it was definitely comparable to DIY. It was just a member of the church that works as a maintenance man claiming that he had a friend that could help him install the systems and save the church a bunch of money. And now just look at the result. These were definitely not professionals and you should be able to tell that by looking at the job.
