Nice video, great catch, you might want to consider a clamp meter with phase rotation test in it. The fieldpiece SC480 for example.

Great video man. Thanks for mentioning the pressure. Most don't understand what it's like when everyone is looking at you to get things running immediately. Noise, time, tight spaces etc all have an effect on someone.

Thanks again Jason! For sure. All that adds on all of pressure and affects people all differently. Appreciate you watching & the feedback🙏Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos every week🔧

Great catch. For most applications this is suitable but some code standards may require connections be made only on mounted terminals. But I've only found this a few times and almost always implemented by design. But it's something to pay attention to for anyone building or servicing equipment to a standard.

That's a fact! If they let that motor run, it would be finished and there would be no pumps at all. This service call was at night so good luck getting a new pump and then there's quite some labor to replace that. Basement to 6th floor would be out of service. I'm glad I was able to get them going. I will be replacing that leaking pump as well as the starters. I will try to record that video as well🙂 Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos!

Wonder if theres some companies that will say the red motor needs to be replaced for motor burned out
@md9292 жыл бұрын
Looks like you were running 208v the way you wired your motor. Correct?
@joshstevens98263 жыл бұрын
If that motor let smoke out, I would definitely recommend replacing the motor. It might run for now, but damage is done to the motor
@JumpermanTech3 жыл бұрын
It def let smoke out. That motor smells funky now still lol That's a good idea. Better off replacing that motor along with the other💯 Thing was drawing 80 amps (runs around 11/12 amps normally) and smoking like Cheech & Chong🤣 That's That's when they decided to call us. That's a good idea but hopefully they approve it. Everyone got hit hard during the pandemic and just trying to get by. Thanks for watching & I appreciate the feedback🙂Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos!

Would the high voltage diagram on that be for 3 phase 480 volt ?
@JumpermanTech3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I explained how to wire this motor for both low voltage (208-230volts) & high voltage(460-480volts) at 9:40 in this video. Check it out👍Stay safe out there & stay tuned for new videos!
@AOZMONSTER3 жыл бұрын
When ratings plates have dual ratings, you will often find wiring methods for each. On this one the low would apply to 208 and 230 (very important that it includes this verbiage on the nameplate) and the high would apply to 460.

Had a local hospital maintenance crew that were only able to call an outside experienced journeyman every time something broke down that charged for every service call. They all were fired for incompetence and all were replaced by a slightly better crew. Unable to wire a simple three phase motor and check rotation shows a lack of basic training!

Baffles me how someone would wire something and just guess where the connections go....
