Excellent class!! I learnt a lot too. The water level in the base tank must be kept above the bottom level of the fill, otherwise air will short circuit and bypass the fill, leading to a performance deficiency. Great teaching!!

For crossflow cooling tower fills aren't dipped inside sump. They has to be above water levels or else their quality will degrade.
