Nice. Different perspective on what we do for a living from the normal equipment issues that is the usual grind. I definitely like learning about controls. I want to learn more especially the programs and how to hook up and interface with the BMS. I was working with a Trane BMS controlled building today. 200 WSHP, 4 Rooftop ERV's, 3 towers, 4 boilers. Love the videos, keep up the great content

What did I get out of this...setting parameters on equipment from the office or home is awesome. Also that massive space above the ceiling to mount equipment and duct is like heaven to me (tinbanger here). If the interior designer was aware of the great expanse above the ceiling you would have 12' ceilings and cramming the mechanical in the truss space. Thxs for the vids!

i live in an apartment and i’ve asked maintenance if they could turn on the days of the week but they said they don’t know how to turn them on but told me i can do it myself since others in our building figured it out. my question is how do i get the days of the week on so i can schedule when the temp goes up and down?
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
Depends on what type of controller you have. All can be slightly different and may not have the capability. You say others have figured it out, find a number, probably on the back of whatever thermostat/controller you have, and Google the model. You should be able to find an IOM, installation operation manual.

Cool man. Do you get much into logic in KCC RTU's and plant controllers?
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Not in ours "KCC" if that's what your asking. Same company different departments. ours are just trane Controls which we see a lot of on the service side as well. Some of The KCC units have what looks like an old tracker panel, touch screen Controls that you can do a lot with as well as connect with TU and/or SC. Thanks John!

@@EverythingHVACR ah right on. I have been trying to sort out some programing in some single and multi zone vav units (arbitration.setpoint blocks specifically) and a chiller plant controller at another site that they want to utilize an economiser. Neither customer likes trane, but I'm not gonna lie I'm not doing much better lol.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Have to have a license for TU and some of the SC stuff is limited in what you can do, that's trane for ya!

Hello, are you able to get this software from Trane, I have about 200 of these AirFi units in my building. Would love to set the min/max for the temperature ranges.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Contact your local trane and ask, licensing is needed for some of their software. Thanks J.D.

Do you have to do any of the software programming for those systems?
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
Not true programming, controllers are programmed to do the job they were ordered for, but it's not unusual to need many adjustments to fit each specific customer and space.

Thanks for sharing this video im hvac tech and my work side has trane roof top with 10 vav boxes and same termostat my question is; is there trane tech support that i can call and is there anyway to get this program to download to my computer
@EverythingHVACR7 күн бұрын
You must have a license through trane to get the software and tech support. You can only do so much without the software. Thanks, mradam.

Great vid! We just picked up an account that has these thermostats. Does this mean that the customer should have this computer software set up or is it a separate investment. Where can I get this software for the customer's computer?
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John! They should have a computer somewhere or at least a concierge which is basically an I pad that plugs in to the SC. For the software you have to contact trane and may need licensing depending on the exact software but SC and TU are what you need to look in to at least for you to be able to access.

Hello there. I'm working at a site with 10 heat pumps using these controls. The suite was Base building before and we came and did tenant Improvement. I'm trying to get these heat pumps started up and the only success I'm having is getting rid of the E1 error from each Wireless controller when I turn in the corresponding heat pump back on. I've set the configurations and checked the gn, the addresses as well. Nothing seems out of whack. The problem is not a single one of these 10 heat pumps is responding to the command from my wireless controller. Spent hours trying to figure it out and I'm at a standstill. You have any tips for me please and thank you? Anything will help. Thanks for the upload of the video too.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
If the wireless controller is in the RTU and far away I've seen some issues communicating, I've dropped the wireless inside the return in the past but with some warehouses and a lot of interference comm can be hit or miss sometimes. You could always consider wired sensors if the rtu connects to thermostat directly
@Talisman_2272 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingHVACR no these are ceiling water source heat pumps similar set up to your video. Everything is indoor in a large suite. The controls are no more than 15 ft away each. I seem to be able to establish communication and get rid of the E1 error when I turn the power on to each heat pump. But none of them responds to a thermostat command I set. I can't even get the fan running on each
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
They have to be pulled in to your main controller as well and set up, I'm assuming you have an SC that communicates with all. If none are working you definitely have something going on there, Trane tech support is always an option, controls can be a pain sometimes, I wish you luck let me know how it goes. You also can't have duplicate addresses for anything on this network FYI, this can cause problems as well

@@EverythingHVACR been trying to get trane tech support but I'm not getting called back. Is there a reliable number to call North America wide? I'll take any number for that matter. I'm in Canada. Thanks.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Trane has got much worse with support and changed some things recently, I think you have to call your local trane and they have to put you in touch with tech support. Do you have a license for TU, this may help, for a while they would not answer if you didn't have a license or were not set up in their system.

How would you fix an E3 sleep failure detection
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
I think E3 is a communication error of some sort, I would have to look at the exact error, I'm not 100 percent sure.
@edwardleija2627 Жыл бұрын

@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
Interesting, I have not seen that error, a double press of the center key should attempt a reset.

Googled the manual, it says if error persist and batteries continue to drain sensor may have defective components and may need replaced

I don't remember exactly what the E2 error is. You may have to contact tech support. Verify all your addressing is correct in the stat and at the VAV or rooftop unit, if it is too far away, you may have to move it closer for wireless to work
