Gerber is doing much more interesting things than Leatherman and Victorinox. Good on them. I like that small mint handle tool. Nice little pocket tool.

New Armbar mini price is good, nice size for keyring , love that it's still got bolts not rivets ! These are the sort of handy little products that can be really useful in a pinch 👍

Gerber shards look interesting. My Kershaw Recap is my favorite keychain tool when I just need to poke or pry something quick without taking out/messing up a tool or even a key.

I am real excited for the creative innovation that they have presented . I have purchased the Gerber Dime some time ago . The spring on the scissor broke . Package cutter , knife , and screwdriver . Folded backwards . The file was non functional . I was quite impressed with the pliers , bottle opener and the tweezers . Well I guess less 1/2 the tool was usable . Hopefully their latest offering’s are a bit more up to par . If I am going to carry it around I fully well expect that it will . ✌️😎

The mini Armbar would be the perfect time to include a diamond file, a nail cleaner (aka 2D Phillips), scissors and tweezers. Form the tweezers so it can remove a tick and you have the dog owners on your side. ^^

I certainly think the small multitool segment has a lot of potential. There are a lot of people who don't carry tools and there's a lot of opportunity to change that. Women are especially a market to aim for here. The bladeless Swiss Army "Knives" seem an attempt to breech the market. The SOG Powerpint is an amazing option too, especially given the price. In this set only the carabiner seems to have any chance of success in my opinion, but it's a very good idea. A bottle opener, a package opener, a functional keychain, all very fast to use. That's all most people want, indeed I can think of many people who would want that right now. The obsession with making everything into a screwdriver seems misguided, the wider market rarely uses a screwdriver and certainly not always the same size screws. People who regularly need a screwdriver will usually get something a bit more powerful like the SOG Powerpint (or better).

Meh. The OG shard is my favorite Gerber tool. I wish they would bring back the mini prybird x tool. Might have to buy one of those utility knives and add a pry feature on the backside.

It's really hard for me to be excited about something with a "parcel hook" on it, let alone where it's the main differentiating feature, as I just don't see any use for those in my life. I know, I know, you can use them to (awkwardly) pull tent stakes or to move a campfire pot (awkwardly) if you didn't have the good sense to bring gloves or far more useful tools for the same purpose, but it just feels like a feature people are trying to invent uses for, not something fundamentally useful. "Parcel hooks" feel like one of those things mostly just there to add another number to the count, like tiny useless scissors or a poorly tempered glass breaker or a bottle opener or what not. I do like the little axe, though!

Yeah, I don't think many people have ever been in a situation where they thought 'damn if only I had a parcel hook right now'. Even crappy little scissors are more useful 99% of the time

They aren't part of my life but I can at least squint and see how they could be part of a sewing / patching repair kit or something. The parcel hook, I can only see if you're actively straining to find something to do with it.

I bought the Gerber zip driver, years ago (along with the zip knife version), but they don't have much practical use for me, and they're in a drawer somewhere, these days. I'd recommend people pass on them.

What?! A popular classic American brand that sells both higher priced USA made knives/tools, but also budget friendly imported kvives/tools, who has developed more innovative unique products that will also help guide their future projects/products in the next months or years?! Well it's definitely not Leatherman then! 🤣👍 Really liking the dime/armbar keychain design and it's future variations or possibly modification... 🤔 I could use that 3 chamber keychain right now! and I'll probably try the neat gimmicky hatchet and arrow! 😂 I really like nite-ize g-clips for having great quick key/ring/etc retention, quick detach option, or a locked option, without any fiddly sliders or locking tabs that are quick access, but are annoying and not 100% trustworthy for staying locked... The gerber carabiner looks like a mix of that and the old Leatherman carabiner which is exactly what I need since I have multiple key "sets" that I combine depending on the vehicle/equipment/other keys I will need for the day... The larger nite-ize g clips just aren't a good option so I've tried a mixture of types/styles but have currently settled on the Leatherman carabiner with a couple of larger key rings to attach all of my tiny g-clips too, and using the corner hole/bit driver as a master point... That gerber carabiner combined with my mini g clips would be a perfect solution with less bulk and less clips, basically a perfect combination of a large g clip and something similar to the Leatherman carabiner it's dedicated corner space and non rounded shape... Honestly about 3 of those are likely to become a replacement edc item for my existing "master rings" for my entire giant key lanyard if the springs are stiff/reliable... Thanks for covering this 👍 I recently finally bought a curve on sale and I have to say I kind of like it, the dime isn't exacly large on a keychain, and definitely has plenty more capabilities, but the curve is tiny and weighs nothing in comparison... I definitely see why Auto-Zone has a good amount of keychain sized items like in their Gerber counter displays, because the neat factor/unique designs combined with the name recognition definitely move lots of inventory with impulse purchases alone... I guarantee most of these are headed to those exact types of displays at various stores, and will probably sell quite well based on my conversations with a few different autozone location employees/managers about their individual displays.
