100% agree, we need to see more of the new gear. That 5.11 stuff looks great, just wish they would work on the clothes for men under 40.

Looked up the gorilla medical kits… why in the world do companies charge so much for kits like that??? The advanced kit is $1100 and elite kit is $4k
@PDOffgrid7 күн бұрын
The advanced kit is for larger groups, and more serious mascal incidents (think large events or stadiums, not really geared towards for more common preparedness measures), and the elite kit comes with a portable AED unit. The smaller kits are much more cost friendly for the average consumer.
@bkwilcox236 күн бұрын
All of these medical supply companies are bleeding you dry. You can build the kits yourself for 1/3 the price.

That TOPS knife with screwdriver attachment is sketchy. Usually you are applying pressure to the screw or nut driver. I wouldn't want to apply forward pressure with a blade aiming right back in my wrist/arm without some type of guard.
@PDOffgrid6 күн бұрын
That was my concern as well! However, the screwdriver is meant to be used with the sheath as the handle to prevent exactly what you're talking about.

I'd never heard of this company so I searched out their website. Nice looking gear. However, I have to "log in" to see your prices? No thanks....

I was pretty interested in some BOA equipped boots (different manufacturer than shown here) and there were way too many reviews of people saying their BOA broke and they don't repair or replace so your $200+ boot instantly becomes a paperweight. I won't go near BOA equipped boots unless they specifically say they will unconditionally guarantee the system for the life of the boot.
@PDOffgrid8 күн бұрын
Don't quote me on this, but I doubt 5.11 would give you any problems. They are actually laced like a shoe would be normally, then cinch with the BOA mechanism. So if, for some reason the BOA system failed, it would be super easy to swap out and replace. The rep I interviewed talked about how rigorous the testing of this new line up was before they gave the green light to release it.

@PDOffgrid that's some good news, I'll have to get some in my hands to look over before I'll trust them. Hopefully they've improved over the years. Thanks for the additional information!

There ain't a way that rifles fitting in there unless you take the muzzle device off!

An SBR with a folding or collapsible stock will easily fit in there. Of course, this all depends on the firearm of the individual.

5.11 is like Gucci. Comes out with a damn blazer that’s nothing special, and going to cost hundreds 😂. It has a zipper for a knife.. great.

avoid those boots. unless the webbing is steel reinforced the wire will tear through them after only a few times of tightening
@peterhopewell93444 күн бұрын
Salomon has a similar lacing system. I have been running their boots for well over a decade and I have never had an eye tear thru or fail. My old shoes/boots become yard/barn footwear. I have one pair of Pro 3D’s that is probably 8-9 years old and, even though the soles are about worn slick, the laces still work just fine.
