The type of HVLP you use is really important. I have a Fuji 4-stage and it struggles with "full weight" waterborne paints for cabinets. I switched to a Graco 495 airless and now use FFLP tips and the finish is phenomenal. I love the 495's digital readout so I can dial in my pressure and log what I like for repeatable results. HVLP is great, but in my opinion you need something like Chris's to run heavier materials. Great video here. Thanks!

I am a big fan of the previous episodes I’ve seen and this is my first time viewing a live stream. Respectfully, I found the recurring verbal redirections and interruptions of the Subject Matter Expert a wee bit too intrusive by the otherwise lovely hostess. Practicing a bit more patience by the hostess would make for a much greater viewing experience. Again, I did find the content highly valuable, just the presentation could use some refinements, like more “air” and less “overspray” 😇 Cheers!

Great video! Thank you so much for all you do and all you share. I have an HVLP gun, non-automotive grade, and want to paint my new window jam extensions, sill etc... Its already primed with a really nice primer perfect sheen and texture. How would thin the paint i want to use and what product do you recommend? I bought a viscosity gauge but thought you might have a recommendation. Thanks again, Charles

Would you still choose an hvlp for 50 doors in a kitchen and would you always choose a renner 2k finish?

Can I use a 20 gallon compressor and a hvlp gun? What is a good gun? Remember I am just a DIYer. Light home use.

Hi dey Quick question pertaining to hvlp vs Airless to respray cabinets inside a house i didnt catch the last part what you said about it in your discussion to get less particles falling on the floor which system will u use?

HVLP has way less fallout and overspray

Airless all the way

Lol did you watch the video? Right tool for right job. On a fence, HVLP took 3 cans of paint versus 22 for airless and cleanup was miles easier too.

Yep you are right

Which one is most like a spray paint can.

Depending on how much you need to spray or size of project and frequency. Very small detailed jobs, small compressor or air tank but using some cut stencils you can get an air brush. Air still produce noise and range from "Craigslist" prices to $4k. Automotive paint is HVLP and $25-$135 at harbor freight to a $650 compressor wired to 240 volt A/C and stationary. Some guys will go gas compressors in trucks, hose, extensions and gun so choose wisely grasshopper! ASE mater tech, retired.
