Probably the only ones who compare them to Slipknot are those who judge bands by appearance. Their music is in no way similar IMO. Mushroomhead's lyrics and vocals are one of the main reasons I listen to them. Their stage presence is pure energy. As much as I liked them before, and loved J. Mann~ I am blown away by their new album and Waylon's contribution. I will always be a fan!

Good point. A band doesn't have to be groundbreaking for me to enjoy it. And just because it's groundbreaking doesn't mean it attracts me. Meshuggah is ok, but to me they're background music. Mushroomhead appeals to me on a much deeper level. It's all a matter of opionion and musical tastes. To me Mushroomhead has a sound like no other band.

@Zoolander3000 Waylon wasn't chosen by Jmann. Jmann suggested that if he ever left the band Waylon would make a good replacement, and they went with his suggestion.

No, cos Slipknot ( they might not have been called Slipknot, but had at least 3 of the members that are in Slipknot now were in it) were actually formed and started to wear masks before 1993. So technically they wore masks first.

Well, i firtsly thought that he was the one with the clear vocals, but in the new album the clear vocals sound the same...J Mann isn't in the group now, but the clear vocals are the same...so i suppose he is the one with the wild vocals(?)...

I haven't heard a live MH song where the singing sounds poor. Guitars and bass? Right on, and heavy. And drums are flawless. These guys put on a great live show.

OMG slipknot formed in 1995 they had a different singer they didn't get Corey until later and signed with Roadrunner which Mushroomhead turned down and they both rule so just drop the fucking rivalry thing

Slipknot has been around since 93, the early ealry one, but they did start to wear masks in 1995 and craig had just a helmet that was white. and everyone else but anders had a mask in 95. but when they had corey and all the suits and masks, it was 1998. not saying they stole it im just sayin when they did it.
