I love it! On a gorgeous and blessed Sunday afternoon, I have just sat down on my front porch of the Family Hilltop Farmhouse to watch the Formula One Austin, Texas, Grand Prix, on KZbin TV. I opened up the KZbin app and my feed presented this uplifting SV650 video, BUT the thing that put a big smile on my face and inspired a therapeutic laugh was the channel owner’s handle: Smokin Monkey. It just cracks me up - reminiscent of so many film storylines that included scene-stealing ape actors, eg., the ones with Clint Eastwood and Jackie Gleason. Thank you, my Friend. Continue to ride safe and live under His Blessings. Grace and Peace 😊

Well, I bought a 2017 today. It is my 2nd bike coming from a 2008 DRZ 400S. I've had the DRZ for a little over a month lol. Holy shit the power is insane compared to the DRZ. Super smooth in comparison. For me, at least for now, I can turn the DRZ way better. The turning is super wide compared to the DRZ, but I am probably doing something wrong. Mine came with a short exhaust it is super loud, I don't know what kind.

Honestly even if you can’t take them for a test ride sit on both and get the feel for the riding position and get the one that your drawn too more. In the end those were the same 2 bikes that I was choosing between. I rode them both and found that the build quality on the Z650 was really nice. The SV650 was the same. Both felt powerful enough and fun. But I found the z650 a bit less flickable (not as quick and easy to turn in compared to the SV), a bit less powerful and in my case the z650 was $1k more expensive. Both the bikes I looked at were ex-demo bikes at dealerships so both were discounted. I bought the SV650 in the final reckoning. I just liked it a lot better and that v-twin sound is excellent. Agreed with @smokin M - ride them both then decide. I was pretty sold on the z650 until i rode the two bikes.

@@sealow08 Thanks for posting this. I am in the same boat about being down to the Z650 and the SV650. As of yet I have only sat on the two bikes, although I do currently ride a Z400 so the Z650 will be familiar territory to a certain degree. The SV650 is so popular that it seems to me that everyone must be on to something. Plus as you said it costs less. I am leaning towards the SV650 so far...

you will NOT have more traction or more stability on wide tire mounted to the rim for more narrow tire. because your wider tire will be squeezed to narrow rim and on 180 tire you will have LESS contact patch than on stock 160 tire. if you want wider tyre you must change the rim to wider one also. some mods requires some research job done ;-)

re. I'm an idiot. GPZ750TURBO, standing quarter mile 10 seconds, do at least 161mph, Glasgow to Leeds, courier, GT750 Kawa, petrol station near Carlisle, police, we've been chasing you for 30 miles doing over 120mph, God knows what you were doing???, Dumfries Sheriff Court said 138mph, fined 50 pounds, banned 3 months and I'm so over top end speed , 30 miles 135mph, biking BUZZ??, much, much more fun, coming across a fuel injected 650 Bandit's Perfect storm 3rd gear, going up a steep, steep hill, 40 yards, before lights red. Fast forward, X4, best buzz ever. First night ride in 27years, am, something I'd call Bandit Time, just under 2 miles later, from nowhere perfect storm, 4th gear??, I'd swear on my hope of ever being a 650 fuel inj. Bandit, Banditeer again., 4th gear, felt like an industrial catapult got it going, at lights brand new Focus ST, window down, ST tried to lord it over me and my late beloved 650 Bandit, OH what you've got there is very, very SPECIAL, I said, the big story is it red lines at 12,000 rpm, driver laughed, we parted, should have said that it red lines at 12,000 rpm, and when I zoomed ahead, leaving the ST, for parked,???, never above 6,500rpm, 4th gear, about 90mph, had a left right chicane to deal with, middle of the lane, could only twitch the bars, upright, felt like the back wheel was in a track, I NEARLY HAD KITTENS, biggest biking BUZZ ever Bandit Time, only topped by 40,50 yards, steep, steep hill, 3rd gear. A bike is what you make of it. If I somehow get another 650 fuel injected Bandit, it would see me out. 2 up 650 Bandit, loses a tad of power, annoyed me, you'd want passenger to experience it, hey ho, lone riding a 650 Bandit f.i. bike, such a JOY, Take Care, Can't it's a Bandit 650. @gunthergunther74 жыл бұрын
Bad idea on stock wheels. What happens is that your narrow 4.50" inch rear wheel changes the profile of the wider 180/55R17 rear tire... Contact patch is larger only when the bike is up right... When the bike is leaned over, you have less contact patch than you would with the 160/60R17 rear tire. If you want to swap a 180 I would swap the 06+ GSXR 600/750 rear wheel. On stock wheels the sv will transition quicker on the 160 than the 180
