@@mrtn___ I hope you have fun with the char like i have. been a hwoarang main since season 2 of tekken 7 and still going strong hahaha. non of the other character gives me the same satisfaction. after some time all the moves just flow normally in your brain and you only need to think how to open up your enemy

TIP FOR EVERYONE struggling with the ender : 3+4 (motion switch) into f+3 -> 4~3 (tyaaaa!) AFTER the tornado -> dash or even RUN up as usual BUT input the motion switch 3+4 as back+3+4 you can run up as deep as you could in tekken 7 , without getting the stupid running animation or without getting the awkward step forward after you did 3+4.
@cayde63628 ай бұрын
Can you help me with the first combo he lists? I can do b3, f4, 3~4 dash 2,4 2,3 but I just cannot find the S! Input in the move list!
@finnExterminatus8 ай бұрын
@@cayde6362 S! just means spin in this case. you see different versions of this, it just means the state after your tornado move. usually in t8 people call it ( t! ) in notation , you will also encounter simply ( ! ) . it just means you did you tornado move also called tailspin / corkscrew / screw / bound, people use all different historical words for it and your opponent is still in a combo state.
@cayde63628 ай бұрын
Oh thank you so much! I thought the S! notation was the high kick he does! Coming from DBFZ the notations in this game is way more complex. Thanks I'm gonna lab combos like crazy
@finnExterminatus8 ай бұрын
@@cayde6362 small tip for hwoarang, lets say you cannot reach the wall. You can do simply do ff+3 as a combo ender to spike him to the ground. Then you are in RFF , right foot forward position. Now do df+3 , you have a super low risk oki option. Its a homing mid and plus 1 on block. Its basically free. You will not encounter someone handling this until fujin and up. And its way easier and simpler than doing the fox step and the end of the combo (where hwoarang is armored for a biref moment when he steps and you can go in and apply oki that way) . After a tornado simply do 3+4 to switch motion into 3~4 (backlash, the armored move) and then do ff+3 into df+3 . Works wonders to keep our pressure up, if you cannot reach the wall and its easy to use

off of ws 2, 3 you can get u/f 3+4, f, u/f 3+4, f, u/f 3+4, f, left flamingo f+3 for absolutely insane wall carry (make sure you take a step forward off of the ws 2,3 otherwise the first hit of the first u/f 3+4 will whiff, the combo won't drop off of this but it does 3 damage less). The reason why ws 2, 3 doesn't really get a lot of damage is because it starts with a corkscrew/tornado/tailspin bind but with this combo you do only get 42 damage off of it however it will get you to the wall from the start of the round on most stages also because Left Flamingo f+3 can wall break you can get extensions from that. On the note of u/f 3+4, f: this is +9 on hit and -2 on block ONLY if you go into left flamingo but because u/f 3+4 is -10 on block if you don't go into left flamingo people think you're more negative than you are and will typically try to use something that is too slow allowing you to get a f 2+3 throw with the downside being that you side switch. I started training taekwondo IRL, in a way, because of Hwaorang. Or rather Hwaorang is how I first found out about Taekwondo. As a kid I loved playing soccer, I could kick the ball way further than my peers so when I decided I wanted to get into some sort of martial art I decided I wanted it to be a kick based martial art and there just so happens to be an ITF Dojang in my city (my city is rather small and rural so we don't have a ton of options) so I decided to check it out and have been training it for about 1.5 years now. Now that I know a lot more about taekwondo and fighting in general (yes I'm aware that Taekwondo is not the ideal martial art for fighting IRL before anyone points that out, that isn't why I train it) I was going through Hwaorang's move list and came across Right Flamingo d/f+4 a move called "Snap Kick" which he's had since tekken 3 a move I have used thousands of times since I started Tekken back in T6. When I realize what move this is I was like "wait a minute.... that's not a snap kick...." Hwaorang's "Snap Kick" hits with the heel in a downward motion. If you hit your opponent with your heel on a snap kick you've done something horribly wrong. I am assuming this has to have been a localization error at some point because the guy who did the motion capture for Hwaorang is a 7th degree blackbelt in ITF-Style Taekwondo so I know this is not what ITF Taekwondo would consider a snap kick in English. We would call it a downward kick, some might call it an axe kick but it certainly isn't a snap kick. Just a little fun fact.

"What does 'S!' mean in combo notation?"
@AlexToti9 ай бұрын
It means "Screw" which is the state of the opponent when they fall on the ground mid combo with their legs up and you can pick up from there to add some extra hits before you finish your combo!
