This is a great tone, Scott. I'm always amazed when people will set up a sound at a low volume, even with a real amp and stuff, then when you have to play at a higher volume, there's way too much delay and reverb. Also, you do the right amount of high cut on this stuff. Really sounds like an amp.

Just so I understand, is this 3 channel amp using snapshots incorporated in one preset, as I just bought a Stomp and instead of an electric clean tone, overdrive and lead I'd like to do an Acoustic, Crunch, and Lead as I am a Solo acoustic performer that loops with a Godin A6 Ultra which allows me to utilize a piezo and magnetic pickup and blend them, so I can loop acoustic and switch to a humbucker on the fly, your answer will be greatly appreciated

Sure, you could do that...but, with the restriction of just six blocks, you might want to have a separate preset just for the acoustic, unless you use the same guitar for everything. My three-channel preset is a single preset with Snapshots for Clean, Crunch, and Lead. I hope that helps. Rock on, Scott

@@Scottsguitarplayground yup, trying to just use my Godin, how do you get the fizz out of the overdrive, I'm running into a JBL EON 1 Plus P.A. it's like the Bose L1 and my overdrive are sounding fuzzy not full, even with cab sims, should I invest in Cab IR's, the ones I got for my acoustic sound are awsome but my electric sounds are fizzy??

David Perez I have a really good custom IR that I use for all my Helix stuff, and, I roll off the highs using the High Cut parameter. I set it between 4.8khz - 6.0khz. Email me and I’ll send you my IR: [e-mail]

You’re teaching me stuff I didn’t know about my Stomp. I’ve just been using the view mode that allows you to modify stuff with my pedals. I’m gonna do some snaps now! I’ve got some custom IR that I put after an amp and cab. Question does the pedal power fully power the stomp? That power block included is ridiculous.

I’m using my heavily modified James Tyler Variax, a JTV-59...I pulled out all of the original electronics, no more Variax nonsense. It’s now got Dimarzio pickups, a Super Distortion in the bridge, and a PAF Master in the neck. I also replaced the bridge, nut, and tuners. I also pulled the original fingerboard off and replaced it with an old maple Gibson Les Paul fretboard from 1971, and had massive stainless steel frets installed on it. It’s a whole new guitar that does everything I want, now.

let me make sure i get this....between the snap shots you can have different settings on the the effects but they follow you.....could you have it so that the clean had a bit of chorus, but the crunch had a bit of reverb and the lead had the reverb and delay?

Mark Shields Snapshots with the HX Stomp are really simple. You choose the six blocks you want (amp model, modulation, reverb, delay, whatever), then, you can pick which effects you want on, or, what parameters you want changed. Each Snapshot can be completely unique.

@@Scottsguitarplayground helix noob here.... So a snapshot is a virtual pedalboard & amp. Within that snapshot, you can choose 3 different configurations of those pedals (efx) & amp? How many snapshots can it hold & how hard to toggle between them? Edit: so a little research shows that what I'm talking about is a Preset. Up to 126 presets And each preset has the 3 snapshots, which are any combination of the 6 blocks within a preset.

@@SicilianDream Yeah that's right haha. The best way I have seen is the Midi Baby by Disaster Area design. It's a very small pedal that can be programmed in a lot of different ways. You can plug an expression pedal into it or even use it for an extra input (tap tempo!)

Re: the parallel reverb and delay - aren't you getting the dry tone twice by using mix on both? Shouldn't one of them have mix set to 100% and use the level or A/B merge block to control the wet level?

If you use a midi switcher, like the Midi Mouse, then, you can scroll through the presets, and activate it when you get to the one you want.

I wish I could follow this but as a new HX Stomp user, it leaves out too much. The sounds are great and it's exactly what I need to get from my Helix. Maybe after getting more familiar with the platform I'll be able to come back to this but for now, it's baffling.

I have a boss EV5 expression pedal and a Boss FS6 dual foot-switch - so my question is, can I use them both on the HX stomp EXP input as the manual say you can use two external pedal to control the parameters. I’m opting to build a pedal board around the HX stomp and I need to connect both expression pedal and a foot-switch for more variety and real live user.

Richard Chua I believe so, you just need to use a TRS to TS Y-Cable...so, a TRS plug on one end, and two TS plugs on the other, one for each pedal.

I've been curious, and have yet to see anyone put out a video about whether the HX Stomp can run two different amp sims and send each amp sim out to it's own output - effectively a stereo amp sim pedal. Might you be able to tell me if this is possible and/or demo this functionality?

You can put two amps in the preset then set them to separate chains. If you then pan them left and right you can send them out the separate left and right outputs.

robert powers also, HX Stomp has only six blocks and the HX Effects has nine blocks you can work with.... HX Stomp is a small limited Helix amp sims and all the effects.... HX Effects has only all the effects , no amp sims..... HX Effects is great if you have your favorite amp and don’t want any of the amp sims....

Darren West There are a few ways...what I do, is hit the Menu button, then Controller Assign, and scroll through the parameters until I find the one I want to disable, then change it from Snapshots to None. Make sure you’re on the block in question. Rock on, Scott.
