Fantastic video, Scott! You actually explain how things work, instead of whizzing through just to show everybody how savvy you are, like the majority on KZbin Helix videos.

Agreed, this is super content! And yeah line 6 should be grateful to say the least cause yeah, you do a better job of selling their gear than they do!

Hey. Thanks for the video Scott. Near the end you mentioned using an external foot switch for your "lead boosts" - can you explain that a bit more please? Do you have another video covering that? Appreciate your content :)

Thanks very much, now I understand how to use the snapshot. One thing, how to use the boss switch for lead tone?

Hi Scott thanks for your great vids. My snapshots were saving fine, then I saw you mention to 'discard' in global settings, so I changed this, then my individual snapshots were not saving... so I reverted back and now they save. So I left them on 'recall'. It could be that my version is 2020 in Limited Edition White, as Ive noticed a few different things when I look back at older videos.... just saying :)

Is there a way to access the Tuner in Snapshots Mode? Looking to assign FS1 - Snapshot 1, FS2 - Snapshot 2, FS3 - Tap/Tuner Thanks in advance! Your videos are great.

Love your video and presets :) A question.. when in Snap shoot mode on a HX Stomp. Can you use an external pedal to change presets? There are only three foot switches, one for each snapshot.. but if you want to change to a new preset then. Kind of go to the next song and three new snapshots, how do you do that easily?

I haven’t figured out, can you clear a snapshot value or “disable” the parameter. Say I enable gain on a drive and I no longer need to have it snapped as I would be leaving it at the same value, etc. ? Thanks for the videos :)

Adam Rojo I’ll demonstrate how to disable a Snapshot in tomorrow’s video...stay tuned!

can you show a video of using the HX STOMP in SNAPSHOT MODE, with, an external 2 button footswitch engaging the TUNER/TAP function. Ive yet to get a confirmed answer if its possible, and see it in action

Tom Foolery I will, eventually...I’m out on the road with Y&T for a few more weeks...I’m going to get back to making HX Stomp videos when I get back home.

Even I own a HX stomp, I so far struggle with snapshots. It‘s because I never know where is a certsin parameter stored (in the preset or in the snapshot). Watching you I realzied if the parameter is not „white“ it‘s stored in the whole preset. But I see when you changed the IR it first was not „white“ so it was stored in all 3 snapshots. Then in the second snapshot you turn it „white“ and change it. But this change automatically appears in snapshot 3, right? Does this mean every change in a snapshot also appears in the next higher snapshot? I will try this. Edit: i found out that a snapshot enabled parameter is not automatically stored in the next higher snapshot. It seems it is stored in the next „untouched“ snapshot. Or in other words: if I snapshot enable a parameter and change it, this change goes to all snapshots until I set this parameter individually in every snapshot. From there on the parameter is independent from the other snapshots. Does it make sense?
@Scottsguitarplayground6 жыл бұрын
TheRaybo66 Yes, anytime you Snapshot-enable a parameter, it’ll appear white (enables) in all three Snapshots.ill elaborate in tomorrow’s video.

Hi. What is the IR?
@Scottsguitarplayground4 жыл бұрын
The IR is an Impulse Response, a digital snapshot of a mic in front of a speaker. It takes the place of the built-in cabs in the Helix. I prefer them to the stock cabs in most cases.

I swore I'd never own anything from Line 6 again, but you've sold me on this bit of gear. Does Line 6 know where to send your commission check?

Heph333 Sadly, no...and, they’ve stopped returning my emails. Oh well, maybe Fractal needs a new preset maker.

@@Scottsguitarplayground Mooer is the new superstar. Their Preamp Live is basically a $400 Kemper. They could use a good Frontman.

In a snapshot can you assign what the FS5U turns on or off in each snapshot or is it just for the preset? EX snapshot 1 boost on off, snapshot 2 chorus off/on etc.

What? I gotta disagree on the stock presets. There's a few that are pretty incredible. You make some great ones of course but, DAYUM, there's some good presets.

I’m out. All of this menu driven BS gives me a headache. The unit sounds like a good idea in theory, but I have neither the time or the patience to jump through all of these hoops for each tone patch. Then, the real buzz-kill is that even if a guy did deal with all of that, the button limitations mean it will never be worth it. I’ll stick with the old fashioned stomp boxes; plug in and Play. Don’t get me wrong... I appreciate your efforts and enjoyed the video. I’m not Hatin’ at all. I’ve watched several videos on this unit and it’s just not for me.
