Thank you for such a clear, concise and succinct video. It was doing my head in trying to figure that out and I never would've thought of turning the wah on, or off like that.

So I could use my Ernie ball volume pedal as expression pedal with the HX stomp?
@brad-guitar-miller8135 жыл бұрын
So you can however because volume pedals use 250k or 500k pots and most expression pedals use 10k. sometimes using a volume pedal it can be more sensitive and audio tapper not as smooth but it will still work.

It has every effect you could ever need (as well as amp models) since that Marshall you have has an effects loop you can route in and out from the HX stomp and by using just the return into the amp you could turn that Marshall into a 5150 or Fender. You got my number if you have questions.

Hi there...great tutorial but I have a question. How can I do to disconnect the effect once the pedal is down...I mean when the pedal is down to toe not at the heel , right unlike you did in the video.....thanks in adavnce
@brad-guitar-miller8134 жыл бұрын
If I'm understanding correctly then when you push the toe down, select the wah block to off, that should make it opposite.
@thewiredones63734 жыл бұрын
yep...I´ve tried it but the reaction is different. Once I set up the milliseconds to disconnect the effect when the toe gets the end it does not work propely....the HX does not recognize the time (I´ve try it even with one second of wait) ...I mean: the pedal disconnect the FX once it gets the end (toe) but with NO WAIT...this way is impossible to control the fx
@thewiredones63734 жыл бұрын
I´m used to a cry baby dunlop wha...so I want to start the wha sweeping from the toe zone instead of having the expression pedal always angled/open...this way it´s dangerous to me because I can touch the expression pedal interacting with the other pedals and engage the assigned fx to the E.P....thanks for your answer

Very useful video, thanks! Can I use even the most cheapest expression pedal with the HX stomp (Like the Bespeco Volume pedal?)
@brad-guitar-miller8134 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Looks like that should work, but I really don't know for sure. The specs on the pedal says 100K which is not a typical volume pedal so it may be very sensitive to changes. If you try it let me know how it works.

My m-audio expression pedal doesn't modify my position parameter, i can't tell why
@brad-guitar-miller8134 күн бұрын
Need to check to see what Expression input you have it set to on the HX. Also possible you may have to modify the cable from the M audio because the HX expression input is a stereo jack and if the unused input is grounded it could cause a problem. Hope that helps.

@@brad-guitar-miller813 i can't replace the exp cable cause it's attached to the pedal, i also set the exp pedal as exp1 and my whammy as modified by exp 1, but i cant see the position moving
@Lorenzo-cr1cw6 ай бұрын
Which expression pedal do you recommend that coukd be good but not super expensive?
@brad-guitar-miller8134 күн бұрын
I use the Donlop mostly because it is volume or expression. I like it because it is heavy duty. There are some les expensive ones out there but no idea on quality.
@Savvathan4 жыл бұрын
hey great idea! Very helpful! Do you think this will work with any expression pedal? I have the cheapo M-Gear one.
@brad-guitar-miller8134 жыл бұрын
i'm not sure. i looked but there are no documents for that pedal. Looks like it has a stereo plug (TRS) on it if so you will have to make a cable so that only the sleeve/gnd and most likely the tip are connected. You will need a meter to check to see which one goes from 0 ohms at the heal to most likely 10K at the toe.
@brad-guitar-miller8134 жыл бұрын
Some have a resistor on the wiper arm. If you look for expression pedal schematic you will see various versions. The HX uses 0-10K input. If you get stuck you can open the pedal and take a picture i may be able to help. Or you may be able to email M-audio for a schematic.

Regarding the wah effect: can I use any of Dunlop wah's or my vox 847 for an expression pedal without influencing the HX Stomp output? Or what would you recommend?
@brad-guitar-miller8135 жыл бұрын
Rob, no you would basically have to gut the wah pedal and change out the pot so you would be defeating the purpose of having a standalone wah.
