I had a '77 Monte Carlo with 15's in the trunk and a 1,000 watt amp, when the sub bass on this song hit, it nearly shook my rear view mirror off it's anchor...

This has always been my favorite Hybrid tune...blown out several speakers as a consequence throughout the 14 years of ownership.

Amen. I love the entire Wild Angle (erm... Wide Angle, that is... lol) album, but this... this is the absolute best. Loved it for 20 years.

@@gfox9295 Agreed. This piece just embodies epicness. It is pretty much perfect.

Thanks for the warning, I believe I may do the same to my speakers in a few minutes🤣 Been looking for this song since I heard it on the Groove soundtrack 20 years ago!

Hadn't heard this song in years, and came across it serendipitously... back in the late 90's, there was a techno club we would go to every Saturday night... pretty much everyone in there was on ecstasy... whenever this song came on, the entire crowd would go ape shit... and at the point in the song where the tempo picks up and the bass kicks in (around the 3:17 mark)... damn. Hard to describe the scene.... to this day the reaction to this song in that club remains the most intense, hype, volcanic crowd i've ever seen and been a part of. In a sense it was like a controlled, collective delirium... almost choreographed in a way. Such memories.....

Very thought provoking and imaginative song. I can almost imagine it now; Listening to this song, laying on my bed at night with the lights turned off in my bedroom. Looking out my window to the cloud covered night sky as drops of rain begin to fall. Pondering...

Here in 2024. This is a timeless piece of music, masterfully produced. I bought this album on vinyl waaaay back in 1999 and every track on it is pure brilliance. Hybrid have been a major influence on my own music.

I heard this song on Pandora one day and was instantly hooked. Looked up Wide Angle on iTunes, got the album, about two or three weeks later, I had all four albums. Of course, none of this would have been possible if I hadn't heard this on Pandora that day.

lol I literally came here to post "Bladerunner". There is no denying the influence that Vangelis had on this piece :)

***** The first minute sounds like it was pulled straight from the movie. Deckard leaning over some high rise in polluted downtown L.A. taking in the view while eating noodles and watching J.F. Sebastian rummage through garbage. Seriously all I see when I hear this...
@GTOAviator10 жыл бұрын
***** Perhaps, but Vangelis took blues and thriller-like sci-fi scores, put them in a blender, and produced the most rhythmic ear candy anyone had ever heard. 0:00-1:03 sounds directly inspired by this.
