This is the last SMITE 2 video from this playtest. Originally, I was planning on recording 2-3x as many of these but days 2 and 3 of the playtest were pretty unfun for me for a few different reasons so I just got the one days worth of recording in. I'm planning to make a fairly short video tomorrow summarizing my thoughts on the first alpha playtest and I'll throw in some footage of a few different gods that didn't make it into a full video.

Just FYI Mast, since you said you were unaware of how it exactly works in the video, the Ancient Fury will not spawn until one team has 3 Gold Fury kills, regardless of the time that has passed in the match. Once it spawns, it will always be Ancient Fury that spawns for the rest of the match. Entertaining vid as always. Keep up the good work! ^.^

It’s funny that you say that in the beginning about new players to SMITE. Because as I’m watching this, I am finally downloading smite for the first time, I’ve been playing predecessor since it came out and it’s my first MOBA. And watching your predecessor videos has led me to watching your smite videos and now I am curious!

23:42, you were healed by the buff to Chaac's passive. It now heals you when you use your free ability! 30:10, if you hover over your abilities, they tell you exactly how much damage you currently deal, and/or how much you currently heal, unlike how in Smite 1 it just gives you the base numbers.

It is actually very genuinely surprising how many brand new SMITE players were in the Smite 2 alpha. Like, why would you spend this much money to join the alpha test of a sequel to a game you've never played? And sometimes not even a genre you've played? I don't really get it, and it did result in some extraodinarily lopsided matches... well, not that "match balance" mattered that much for the sake of the test, but still.

Wasn’t a fan of the first smite but played a bunch of pred wanted something new jumped into smite 2 caught on fairly easily with bellona in the offlane had a great time won a ton of games, but was actually surprised myself by the amount of players that were somehow worse than me as if they’d never played a moba before lol

I've been watching you play Predecessor recently. You're already better than me despite not knowing nearly as much about the game. You're diamond 2 after a few weeks. I am plat 1 after months. Even in videos, you'll say you doesn't remember details about abilities and then crush it playing characters you've never played before. So, clearly, there is more to playing a MOBA than knowledge and experience. What do you think that is? What separates the average player from a top 2% player? I want to get better, but I don't know what else to do but practice, and practice doesn't seem to be closing the gap.

Maybe try recording yourself and watching the games over also callout your mistakes well playing and try to be aware of your shortcomings

simple answer is some people just do good/bad at certain things. mast talks a lot but always has a plan and is clearly thinking 5-6 steps ahead despite his quirky funny talking style. MOBAS are much more like a game of chess than say COD, sure that kill is awsome but did you gain extra farm or can you zone them into their tower because of it? it’s just levels on levels on levels. SMITE is easier that pred to learn the basic things you need to be successful in any MOBA. tldr always think 5-10 steps ahead learn what your playing against and how to dodge/counter it. learn who your playing with n and out don’t jump between characters and roles too much. good luck i started smite 2 months ago and am already knocking to n the door to plat

Never played pred, but during my smite games I've found playing around your opponent properly and positioning well are the most important things outside of hitting your abilities haha. It's really hard to describe what to do exactly, it's more of a mindset. Biding your time, positioning well, waiting for opportunities while not overextending, all play a factor. I'm personally generally greedier than my skill allows me to be, and playing squishy characters makes you a target and I hate that so I play tanks usually to mitigate that lol. That way I can make a mistake and not die from it usually and I'm more impactful in general.
