That smell is so good! Every hpi at that time had that smell of quality plastic and rubber. Still have new in boxes baja’s and savage’s in my hobbyroom. Did work in a hobbyshop when these were new. Never got tired of the smell. 😁 We all know that rc is a sickness!

Dude this is just amazing. One of the most epic RC's ever. When they came out i dreamed about one, and when i got it (5B SS from 2009) it was the happiest day ever. Still got it and will never ever sell the thing. Sich a cool chassis.

I’ve been an huge fan of the hpi Baja 5B & Baja truck since they first came out I have a original hpi Baja truck that i always joked about putting around 30k in upgrades into it just assuming and the funny thing is that the other day I was going through my cabinets and found the folder that I put every single receipt in for every single upgrade I did to my hpi Baja so I had finally sat down and added them all up and the total literally was $25,000 into a rc car

totally what I was thinking too. In fact I'm sure you know the FLUX model came out some years after the gas models, but they were a FLOP. I'd say true 1/5 scale successfull brushless models don't exist, and I don't really consider Arrma 1/5 scales for that segment either.

Actually... Traxxas did it first back in 1993 with the Moster Buggy. It was an assembled RTR with a Zenoah. Ahead of its time. HPI came later and advertised better

what up my dude!! Yes, 500 would have been a fair price for an original baja. Today you could get pretty good clones for that amount brand new too, and they are even better than the real ones used to be, in terms of engine specs and upgrades btw. But yes, it's best to know if they run, especially from a pawn shop.
