haha, hey dude!! Yes, I watch them 3 times during the edit and re-edit stages while making them. Then also about 2 times when they are public, sickening! This week I was in an undisclosed location without any internet service but with a lot of STEAK and on rare occasions shrimp and lobster. Worst thing was NITRO was not allowed!..

This is crazy. I’m so glad you picked up a Firestorm. I exclusively collect Firestorms since I got in the hobby when I was a kid 15 years ago. I have enough brand-new parts to scratch build multiple brand-new fire storms. Those front bulkheads are the number one weak point on the entire vehicle. You can sometimes find aluminum ones but they’re mainly all sold out everywhere. I’m also currently working on 3-D designing every plastic part for the fire storm so that parts can be 3-D printed for repair in the future. Another weak point is the clutch springs. They break all the time. You can get teflon ones on AliExpress but they aren’t great the best thing to do is to source an HPI savage fly wheel and clutch assembly and it will have amazing performance and never have clutch failures. The G3 .0 engines also are very known for suffering from cracked case failure. You can check by taking off the back plate and seeing if a crack is formed on the inside of the engine where the mounting tabs would be. The best preventative fix I found was to use a diamond Dremel and add a small radius to the engine mount tabs where the cracks propagate from. As well as adding a small rubber strip under the engine to act as shock absorbing and case pressure. Other than these few issues this car has been absolutely amazing and I absolutely love it. I intend to be “that guy” that only has HPI firestorms. I have both the nitro and the electric versions as well but I mostly run nitro.

@hybrid32494 Жыл бұрын
whats up my fellow NItro Brother! Yes, these are usually the weak parts on this chassis, the damn carb linkage. It's because of incorrect EPA limits on the servo, causes too much stress on the linkage. If you have the stock radio, check the end point adjustments in the future.

I've got the HPI Savage 25. Still works perfectly. Only issue was the one way bearing in the rotostart often failing. I've also developed the same carb issue as your Hellfire where it rotates and for the life of me I cannot extract the carb as the retaining screw / cam seems to have gotten stuck. Thankfully it doesn't affect running but does knock trim out when it rotates
@twinturbotony932 жыл бұрын
I've never owned one of these but I worked on plenty at my LHS. The most common issue they had for me was the clutch. They always came in with broken a clutch spring.
@miraclo32 жыл бұрын
yeah the clutch in the bulkhead are the two biggest weak links with this car but you can upgrade the clutch to a 3 shoe HPI Savage clutch and it works amazingly.

If I had to guess, I would say the throttle arm broke, he had a runaway, hence the damage to front end and body. But how did the throttle arm break? There’s no throttle spring. And the carb is not seized. Unlucky!

What do you think about the arrma Fireteam?
@hybrid324942 жыл бұрын
hey dude, how you doing! I've seen many vids and reviews on the fireteam from my fellow KZbin Gang, and to be honest I do not see a single trait of feature other than "aesthetics" that make it desirable to me. It's a big brushless electric Truggy with a exo cage/skeleton stye body. I will admit the body is cool for video recording angles, but unless it's on a 50% off sale, I would not purchase it.

@hybrid324942 жыл бұрын
hey dude! Welcome to the channel, it shows me you're a new sub, so thank you once again! Anyway, yes, the diffs used on nitros are not strong enough for some modern brushes systems. Although I think if you drive normally it should be fine.
