Hey buddy , it was Schumacher's son that he made the ball transmission for , as his son started racing RC cars and kept needing new tires so his dad made the ball trans , then all his racing buddies wanted this upgrade and Schumacher RC was born . All the best ..............

Its funny to watch your amazement of the early nitro cars and technology. When I was growing up in the 60s it was all about slot cars. Slot cars were electric that had wire brushes hanging out the bottom and were energized by 2 metal strips on the track. In order to run them you would head down to your local hobby store and run them on there indoor tracks.

It's a Championship trophy truck that competed in race's, as its a quick fill tank they were always getting dirt and grit inside so they put a filter inside which was easy to replace to further protect the engine from damage, during pit stops it was easier to open the tank and change the filter. Hope this helps

hey bro, thanks for watching. First thing is check if it spins at all, by moving the flywheel with your finger. Don't attempt to use the electric start at all, it could he stuck and you could strip a gear or burn the motor out. You only attempt to use the EZ-Start once you know the engine spins freely. Remove the head and inspect it, you could add some wd-40 or after run oil and use a heat gun on the engine case (side), this should free it up and you can see if it's repairable at all, or mechanically broken. LEt me know after you get it, NitroGang likes this stuff.

Maybe the 2 part fuel tank is to allow people to clean it out should they have old/bad fuel in it? Also, with the metal chassis, perhaps the added weight aided with stability and lower center of gravity over a lighter aluminum or plastic chassis? If it does 70mph as is, they probably didn't feel the need to go lighter.
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey bro, you made some good points! I could see that being the case with the metal chassis. But I now realize why they used a plastic motor mount plate. This chassis was originally an IFMAR winning design back in the 1980's and from an electric model. They just used it and adapted the same electric chassis layout, that's why the component all look so weirdly placed on it. I'll take apart the fuel tank in the next video, we can look inside it.

Dude you're absolutely the best))) give me one of those cars please, i really want that.sorry for arrogance
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey bro! Thanks so much! Unfortunately it looks like I will need both of these to make one run, at best. The parts one is missing the entire drivetrain, so I really only have one car based on that. Without the drivetrain it's trash mostly, nothing of value other than the motor.

Cool hybrid!
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey bro, thanks! I learned a lot of weird Schumacher history here along with the rest of you guys. But common, a metal painted chassis with a plastic engine mount for a big0block motor, ahahaha. Maybe it's ahead of it's time, we will see when we get it running.

Replace your after run oil with Marvel Mystery Oil. It frees up stuck pistons, and burns off cleaner than ARO
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey buddy, great idea, I used to use it as a parts lubricant. Its just mineral oil, similar to the 3-in-1 oil I use in my 1/5 gas RCs. I cant seem to find any on amazon right now, unfortunately, But the next time I'm in Walmart I will pick some up.
@paulallen-014 жыл бұрын
hybrid32494 yeah it’s fantastic stuff. The owner of my local hobby shop is the one who recommended it to me years ago and I never went back to afterrun oil since! And a quart of it will basically last a lifetime if only used on RC stuff!! You can also find it at any auto parts store

@@hybrid32494 I upgraded my engine to a vx18 on the nitro and it's actually zooming
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
Yup bro, the VX18 is not a bad motor. It's easy to tune and has adequate power. IDK why so many people put it down, for a 1/10 RC it's perfect. I dislike the Vertex16 though, had one in a redcat, could never get it tuned well.

I don't know about you but this Schumacher is the only model I've seen with an exhaust pipe that cuts through the entire car, instead of being in the back or on either sides. I found that weird.
@TheVasilief4 жыл бұрын
It keeps over 50%of the weight on the center, that's good for cornering. But on a 2wd it reduces some grip on acceleration.
@jfieifm4 жыл бұрын
@@TheVasilief i don't think it's weird like bad it's just the first time I've seen something like this.

What's weird about it?? It's just a bit old skool🤣 the genesis of this car goes back to the 80's with the Top Cat which became the Cougar then Cougar 2 (which were all electric). Then various mk's of Nitro10's, XT 21, XTR then the XTR 3e. Not much changed from the Cougar to the XTR 3e, small mods to the chassis mainly change to steel from aluminium and transmission beefed up to take the power but the suspension remains pretty much the same for all the cars.. If you paid $60 for them then that's an absolute bargain👍😄

hey bro! I got my work cut out for me with these two, more like one. I'm hoping to get one started (just the motor in the net 1-2 videos). I will just pour fuel into the motor see if it starts up at all, then figure out if that 2-piece fuel tank design holds pressure.

I think your single speed Schumacher is an XT and 3 speed is XTR3 E
@hybrid324944 жыл бұрын
hey bro, yes, It's highly possible. That's what I was thinking too. Since the Parts one is missing the entire drivetrain section I cannot tell if it had the metal diff outdrives, only the XTR-3E had those from what I read. At least the parts one 21 engine is in normal shape and not seized, the other one is.

hey!! ahah, you got me!! Some comment said it was to make sure the piston is correctly placed right by the exhaust port. Actually a good idea, some people reverse the piston on motors and the wrist pin eventually breaks, if they are directional, (very few engines are this way).
