The POWERFUL New Sounds of the Updated Aegis Retaliator | Star Citizen 3.23.1 PTU

Star Citizen's 3.23.1 PTU patch dropped an update for the Sabre Raven but also an update for the Retaliator. A heavy bomber that can be converted to a cargo or troop transport in a flash thanks its modular torpedo bays.
With this new update came some improved sounds for the Retaliator the audio team at CIG have been cooking up. The new sounds come as part of a overhaul from ship audio coming down the pipe that aims to make each manufacture have a unique audio signature unique to their brand for small, medium, and large vessels.
CIG plans on rolling out these new audio updates for every ship that gets an updated pass going forward.

The Retaliator was the first ship I fell in love with in SC. Modeled to be Star Citizen's own take on a futuristic B-17 or B-29 heavy bomber from WW2. The ship is meant to be a very old reliable design that can take a beating, drop off its payload and return to the fleet. In 3.23.1 we finally got an update to the Retaliator after its update was put on the backburner for years. While the audio is not fully finished since there are still missing elements such as missing mechanical audio for doors and lifts. A lot of the thruster audio is close to being finished and you can hear that here. Still some work that could be done, for example how quiet in the cockpit the VTOL engines are as they make no noise when rotating and in general not hearing clearly the two nacelles that are next to the cockpit. But we should see additional updates as the patch progresses. Let me know of what you think of the audio updates. Does it stack up to something else like the Sabre Raven in your opinion? The tali always reminded me of the b1 or 'bone'. Maybe not as fast, but the long thin chassis holding a LOT of firepower gave me that vibe.

Tali is my favorite too and is the only ship I own since its first concept sale, but the only thing I miss from the original concept of the ship is the more open canopy. The in game version of the Tali has much worse visibility and notibly smaller cockpit, its a shame considering its a bomber who usually excelled at great overal vision through their cockpit.

The retaliator is one of the ships i keep buying back, and it is such a cool ship to fly. Glad to see its finally getting its gold pass, and its gonna be the first rendition of modularity aswell, wild!

i just CCU'd my andromeda for this and i will probably regret it but i like the aegis/Anvil ships more and really all i lost was a bit of frontal weapon power for a multicrew ship that actually makes sense for my friend group

The Retaliator is a really stunning ship. I limit myself to ships that can be soloed and only go for multi-crew ships where the pilots still _can_ solo the ship. But I am really excited to see more Talis in the 'verse. It's a great alternative to the Eclipse or the A2.

I love everything about the Tali gold standart. From the sound to the Modules, the Airlock, the elevator etc... All those changes are really nicely done except one. These new Turrets are straight from Hell xD The Tali has such a beautifull gently sloped design that rudely gets interrupted by these wierd growths all over the body. Such a shame. I'd love to be able to exchange at least some of the turrets for fixed pilot guns. But then again, it's a Bomber and not designed to fight head on by itself like the B1B Lancer irl.

Agreed, that would be awesome if they were flattened and polygonal like on the larger capital ships. The back 3 turrets can be remote - there's dedicated space for chairs - they don't have to lift up anywhere, this is done on other ships like the smaller front and back turrets on the Redeemer. Only the front turrets would have to be 'manned' because of the space.

Unbelievable! If I wasn't already 80% sold on this coming out of IFW, this grand slammed it! I loved flying this on Aegis day and I had to come back today and push it like in your video (tho not too close to the ground, lols), Yea, most of its sounds are there and complement the way it handles, but yea, it needs more polishing, ex: 'fuse boxes' are there, but no noise when you open them. This ship had also caugh my eye when I started looking into this game, but had to turn it down because of the crew requirement (hoping blades and hireable NPCs come soon), but in time it will get more polished, more modules will be available which is half the reason I bought this, the other half is what it is now but a sweet indulgence on a ship that was always at the back of my mind. Thanks Hybrid, for making this beautiful video on an old favorite.

I give your take off a 4 out of 10 from an aviation standpoint. All VTAL pilots use a transition between VTAL lift and forward motion. This is one fluid movement. None of them stop in mid air, switch modes and then move forward. Since this is a game, flying between buildings is fun I guess but again from aviation standpoint this is not immersive or realistic. I won't say I haven't done it but I like to play the game in a realistic way instead of focusing on the arcade aspects. The sound seems much like it was before but then again it's been a while since I've been in the Tali. I love your landing and take-off vids. I thought I'd turn the tables on you today for a larf.

@@DawnbreakerDivinations Yeah... While I fully understand why they added it they really need to turn it down a notch or two. I like it I just wish it was less as it gets rather extreme at times that it really shouldn't. The only time it should shake that violently should be when the ship is heavily damaged or you are flying beyond tolerances of the air-frame. No within tolerance maneuver should feel like you are shaking the ship apart.
