THe DE6 is a GM EMD G26C locomotive, it has a way too long fuel tank for it to be a G22C series and it can't be a GT series because it lacks the "hump" or the raised section in long hood that is needed to fit the turbocharger for the 645E3 engine. And yes, you're correct the placement of the engine in the long hood is actually reversed, the starter door of the G22/26 series should be near the radiator grilles.

Some proper “cowboy” switching in this one! Remote control makes this sort of thing a little easier. Im the same way though, I start throwing cars everywhere to “save time” and inevitably end up with a royal mess. I tried to running drop a cut of loaded explosive cars into the military base one time and the entire place went up. Didn’t play for a month after that one. Still keep coming back to this game though, looking forward to Simulator! Hopefully the DE6 will finally get some dynamic brakes for more train handling shenanigans.

Aside from all the jumping backing fourth and the jerky camera this was great to watch. As a truck driver i totally understand everything you did with the airbrakes while shunting. I just didn't realize it was even possible in this game. I've watched 4 or 5 different channels playing this but never seen anyone utilize the airbrakes the way you have. So it's been awesome to watch you doing this. 👍

Not sure if anyone has said this, but as for the teleporting coal to your engine bit - the caboose has a career manager machine where you should be able to pay your locomotive's fees, and thus fill it with coal again. It would be more expensive though.

30:38 The game does simulate the slack realistically. If you are in the locomotive going downwards using the independent brake, it compresses the train, making it more unstable as you derail close to the speed limits. If you use the train brake while applying throttle, you pull the train longer and can take turns at an higher speed. It is always funny to see people using the independent brake because they are just over the speed limit and seeing them derail

As a fellow railroader from the northeast, I enjoyed the video. I've retired from Amtrak where I was a radio maintainer and I'm affiliated with the Cape May Seashore Lines, the reason for the "CMSL" in my name, a class 3 in South(ern New) Jersey. Before I started working for Amtrak I was a qualified engineer and conductor for the CMSL, where I ran BUDD RDCs as intended, F7s and a GP9. At the time the CMSL was more of a tourist line, but the owner ran and still does run a tight railroad. They run the NORAC operating rules and interchange with Conrail shared Assets, so we have to be on top of our game. I plan to buy your game so I hope to multiply with you at some point.

I have played derail valley once and it was fun. I did a job that was a haul for the shunter diesel and was maybe about 8 cars (been a long while since then hard to remember) that needed to be delivered to The Goods Factory And Town from the Harbor. The locomotive was already near the load so hook up was quick. Points from the harbor was set and i high balled out of the harbor. Trains and cars in derail valley seem to have a small room for "hang speed" which means that you can go 5 to 8khp higher while in a turn. Be aware that means two wheeling an entire train so bravery is advised! I did succeed in making the delivery although my speed on one of the straights was high enough the shunter could not read it out. Rip speedometer.

In the past, some locomotives in the UK had urinals. This was back in the days when locomotives required two crew. But it turned out, using the facilities at 75 MPH or more made it difficult to, shall we say, maintain one's aim. Corrosion became an issue and the urinals were removed.

Kinda smashed into 1 car a bit hard, getting used to multi task with remote. But man the remote is FFing nice for un/hooking up these long ass trains. Get 48 min bonus time, took me 70 minutes to get 3 jobs of containers to the harbor. For a total of almost 70k, minus 18/19k ish fees. Than you watch hyce struggle with a similar long train. A bar is mainly used when talking about fluid pressures. Its also no longer the atmospheric pressure but equal to 100 000 pascals. Due to this whether reports might use milli bars or hecto pascals interchangably. You'll never use bars for stress though. Thats all in pascals. Or even just written N/(m)m².
@olivertripp54122 жыл бұрын
We're not using pascal for stress etc., we're using newton/kilonewton in the metric system most of the time.
@Hyce7772 жыл бұрын
Newtons are units of force, stress is in units of pressure ;) hence why I said Pascals. A force that induces stress would certainly be in N in metric though :)

I notice that none of the locomotives have a chair even in Railroads online some locos don't have anywhere to take a seat and rest also pascal's and bars are interchangeable a bar is a 100 000 pascal's if I remember correctly if you're using bars it usually refers to pressure of a gas like we measure tire pressure in bars not pascal's also gas pressure in tanks it's just one of those it exists so we don't have to say something like 0.5 megapascals no you say 5 bars Also 1 bar is approximately the average atmospheric pressure at sea level

Can you tell me why blowing air to brake damages the car? I'm a civilian who loves everything trains

I did the same thing, each of the shunters can pull 400t, so if I use two I can take 600t of steel to machine town? Oh there's a hill... and I'm stuck >_

The wheight that each engine can pull is for level ground. If you add grade, the wheight you can pull drops substantially. I had to use 6 shunters to (barely) pull 800 tonnes up a 2% grade. If 400T per engine was correct for al grades, i could have pulled it with 2 or 3.

14:13 Doesn't the Caboose let you do exactly that? Despite it making no sense?
