I have 'Incrediball' and 'Invincibelle Spirit II' growing in my Canadian zone 3 garden where yes, at times it can get down to a very bone chilling -40, these plants are very hardy and perform fantastically, they're also something that you can almost never have too many of in a landscape! 'Invincibelle Spirit II' holds its color very well even with the intense heat we've experienced these past two summers and STILL has some fresh newer blooms as we now go into October and approach frost. To perform best, they require a good soil that has been deeply dug and amended and of course decent soil moisture as all hydrangeas appreciate! Late this summer, I also finally did acquire 'Incrediball Blush', two plants that I have situated in prime locations! 😘

Thank you for letting us all know. Learning of everyone's experiences in different parts of the country is invaluable. We can report on how the plants perform in our area and region generally, but hearing about your experiences helps to round out and complete the knowledge for all of us. As we go forward, it would be great if you can keep us all posted on your progress with any other plants that you think other gardeners will benefit from knowing about.

@@OverdevestNurseries Alberta, Canada here, 'Incrediball' often will survive with nearly 3 ft of live wood even after -40, yes, these I prune back to about 16 inches, they bloom early and long and are great for drying! I need to get some of the others such as 'Wee White' and 'Limetta'

I have both incrediball and incrediball blush, seems like the blush is a smaller plant, so I moved the blush to the front of the incrediball to show off both at the same time

This June is the first year my Incredible Blush blooming, the flowers are White now, are they going to turn into Pink later?

As I mention in the video, this type of Hydrangea is very hardy, reliable and easy to grow, so it is not that surprising that it is beginning to flower (they usually do - with ease)! But, as you will hear and see (around the 3.50 minute mark) in this video the buds on our plants emerge as darker pink shades and then matures to bright, silvery pink shades, so the description of your plant doesn't sound right!

@@OverdevestNurseries thanks for quick response. I guess my plant is mislabeled . Too sad , I was expecting to see this silver pink since I bought it last August ( at that time, there was no flower on the plant)

bought 2 and I love them! Thinking of putting in as a hedge, but can't decide if I should do monochrome blush or alternate 2 blush, 2 white? Wish I could find a picture of it done both ways. Suggestion?

Thanks for your question, It is great to know that you also like these two superb plants. Now for a suggestion from this "Old Hardy Perennial"! If you are thinking of creating a hedge or line of them, I suggest you keep it to just one variety (either one would be fine)! Over the years, I've seen several attempts at planting what is sometimes called the "tapestry effect" where alternate plants of two vars. are used, and it seldom turns out well! You see, even though these two are bred from the same species and have similar breeding backgrounds, they grow at different rates and have different habits and therefore would "drive you nuts" trying to keep them even. Also sometimes in a line (with varying environmental & soil conditions) not all plants of even one sort grow exactly the same! And if there's only one type, this may not be all that noticeable but when there's two sorts the difference tends to be more obvious. So, my advice is - keep to one variety! It will be better in the long run!

THANK YOU! This is great advice because I also want to plant smaller growing hydrangeas in a hedge, specifically in between North Pole Arborvitaes I have planted in a hedge. I’ve been envisioning alternating hydrangea colors, but that wouldn’t look as striking as having a single variety. Plus, maintaining different varieties would be time consuming as you suggest. Again, thank you, I hope to find this specific variety, soon. @@OverdevestNurseries

Will it take afternoon sun??
@OverdevestNurseries

Yes, they flower and grow best in sunny spots but obviously the better the planting technique the better it will do: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqrFhWall96Xhtk. Mulch it well and perhaps water it occasionally during prolonged dry periods too.

could you please tell me where I can buy these plants? No one sells these hydrangeas where I live. I live near Philadelphia. Could you tell me some local retail stores that sell them?
@OverdevestNurseries
@OverdevestNurseries 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. We are pleased to tell you that there are several really good nurseries and garden centers in and around the Philly area (and also central PA and NJ) that carry our plants. Here's a ink that will let you see where they are located: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ - just zoom in on wherever you live or put in your zip code. Thanks again for your interest, we hope you enjoy it for many years. Finally if you haven't already, might we also suggest that you follow our channel so that our new videos will pop up in your feed as we add them? And if you click the “like” button on any particular video it will help other KZbinrs find it too in the future.
