Lovely sound design. You really capture the essence of the Hydra Synth Explorer and you clearly know what you are doing.

Dude your patching was so good. Plus I love this synth. 100% getting one for my portable synth to pair with my SP404 MK2. So freakin cool. Your Cobalt video was tempting too but this thing is DEEP.
@teftymusictech Жыл бұрын
Thank you Remy! Explorer plus SP404 would be a sick combo. The Cobalt is an excellent synth, but very limited in comparison to the Hydra. What it excels at is extremely fast VA sounding patching. Like it has sweet spots everywhere. And the recent firmware update gave it even more 'vibe'. The Hydra on the other hand is sound design dream. So many options. Just fantastic.

Hey man. Do you have thoughts on the best way to power your synths when not near an outlet?

Tickled my brain through my ear drums with this patch and got me incredibly excited for my explorer currently en route

Thank you for having uploaded this in-depth demonstration. At the end of April 2024, I am poised at the edge of purchasing an Explorer for myself. I can only hope I remember half the details you shared in this upload.

I've honestly been fumbling with my Hydrasynth for ages as someone who's relatively new to synths and this helped a TON

25:15 I love the shimmering tremelo 👍. It reminds me a little of one of Vangelis' patches on his China album (my third favourite after Spiral and Albedo 0.39).

Thank you for the video, if only Roland had laid out their Jupiter Xm’s UI this way, it would have been the best synth in the world. The Hydrasynth is a good contender, especially it’s half the price though it has a polyphonic aftertouch keyboard.

Great video and talk, I am not into the sound I notice after 27 minutes, but boy can the ASM do a lot!

is it possible to use the chord button and step sequencer to create chord progressions? or even just the sequencer? or does it only work for arpeggios?
@wendelynmusic Жыл бұрын
Did the firmwater update remove the step edit function???? why can I only find on patches I created before the update? what replaces it. Hopefully you will see this even though it's an older video.... I was trying to set up step edit on a patch I was creating and it wasn't there....

My volume knob is weird when I play a new patch with headphones (with speakers it’s ok): Turning it clockwise, the volume does not increase as it should, but it has louder and less loud positions. Overall, the volume is extremely low. There is massive crackling with the movement. The problem disappears when I add OSC 1 pan value. I already had the unit replaced, but the replacement shows the same behaviour. Anyone know more?

this thing work ok with the MPC?

Does the sustain pedal just function as a "hold"? Or does it adjust the sound like it would with a real piano?
@jonasaras8 ай бұрын
Are the black keys as crappy as they say? I’m a pianist that doesn’t mind mini-keys, but I’ve heard that the black keys are unplayable

Why use the page down key the trick is choose say oscillator 1 orange select button but tap it multiple times to jump to the page you want never move your hand it's so fast and intuitive I'm looking at the screen while I tap it works on all the buttons

This sounds so awesome! I'd never be able to afford it though haha

Thanks! In terms of hardware synths, the Explorer isn't too bad. And it was on sale recently for $500. But yeah, hardware is expensive.

You don’t sound totally happy with the synth.. Are you, even now?
@koumospecial16 күн бұрын
Well, what about being able to create things while playing instead of menu diving for minutes if not hours?… I want to unlock the potential while playing and not while checking on the manual or KZbin videos on how to do things. And yes it’s a powerful tool (I bought one) but the console needs a complete revamp. Suggestions: Get rid of the knobs. Bring sliders. Bring a decent screen instead of that keyhole “mini me” shit sitting there. Reduce the times a user has to click a button or turn a knob to access something or control parameters AND that doesn’t mean adding a touchscreen. Seriously ! …this is the 21st century. Has ASM heard of Design Thinking or UX? Would that kick the price up? Maybe but then they would create a legendary synth that would sell like warm bread 🥖 . Right now I feel there is a Ferrari engine but with 🐎 reins instead of a steering wheel 🛞 … and that kills expression and creativity.
