Seriously, this gotta be one of the most versatile synths of this size, out of everything out there. It’s so cool that you’ve made it 100% patch compatible.

Everyone is hyped about the Deluxe, but this is the real game-changer. This shifts things the same way the Minilogue did when it was released. The FULL synth engine as the big brother, 8 voice, Polyphonic Aftertouch!! Amazing.

Yeah mate I think it's a big big step for ASM, I'm sure I will get it for sound designing. It's really what people need:)

Every time I see a video of this synth, I realize why it's so popular. Thanks for sharing. 🤘

Thank you for not messing with the core Hydrasynth engine. Love the Hydrasynth and hopefully this will get it into more people's hands.

Selfishly, I hope it doesn't get into more people's hands. I like that it's our own little synth, lol 😋🧡

So I got this version at first. I chose it because of the size. After playing on it I realized that I was just going to make some space in my studio for the Hydrasynth keyboard. And allthough I have the keyboard, it still hurt to send it back to the store. People should buy this one, for the polyAT AND get a very beastly great synth on top of that. So, I can imagine in the future buying the Deluxe also, but I want the explorer back too instead of my Komplete M32. And now I am just looking forward to get it in my head and how it works. Because it is sooo versatile. These synths are modern classics. Really. And the pricing is like you're almost giving them away. And no I don't get anything for writing this, perhaps maybe some thumbs up, but for the people who are thinking about buying this. Just do it and give yourself the time to learn it. And it is my first synth, but after a week I am getting some pretty nice results from changing presets. Starting from scratch and get the sound that's in my head will take some time, but in the meanwhile I'll be enjoying the random function :-) . Just press random twice and BOOM another weird or nice sound is born. (if there are strange sentences it's because I am dutch)

Just bought mine. Can't play keys, don't know anything about synths other than I love the sounds they make. I'm ready for an adventure Glen my friend! Let's Go!

Ahhh! I'm so glad to see this and the Deluxe versions! Such a wonderful combination of hardware and software options. I can not wait until more people learn how useful these synths are. Good job, and keep it up!

This is awesome. I'm very surprised the main "influencers" out there didn't get one and hype it up yet. :)

VERY neat idea, and great price point. Suggestion: For battery powered units, you might want to consider using 18650 cells in the future, ideally with a built-in charger circuit. This is really cheap to implement, you could replace those 8 AAs with 2 18650s that last a lot longer than NiMH cells, and people could recharge them on the road using a USB connector and a powerbank - or just via swapping out the batteries.
@Ratskank2 жыл бұрын
Could be cheap to get the parts but not necessarily cheap or easy to control/negate noise and hums from the charger circuit, Those things can make a big difference to the end price

This is amazing. I must say though, the difference in price between the explorer and the normal keyboard version is insane. Drop that normal price down and you'll have thousands more buyers> Myself included ha

I’ve watched umpteen videos on this synth and visited the website…only here, in this video, was it mentioned that it has eight voices. I got curious because some less-than -experienced commenter on another video thought that “3 oscillators per voice” meant only three notes could be played at one time. Which had me thinking, what’s the point of polytouch with only three voices. Alas, in fact it is an 8-voice synth. Thank you ASM.

Ah, for a few seconds, I thought it was a full-sized 37 keybed like recent Modal/Korg synths. Well, now to check the Deluxe videos :)
@timbeaton50452 жыл бұрын
Yep. I'm not a great (or even good!) keyboard player, but i can't abide min keys. Will be fine, I'm sure for many, but not for me. Back to the Modal for a potential buy for a smallish portable synth with full-sized keys. Shame, as i do love the sounds these Hydras make.
@timbeaton50452 жыл бұрын
PS. the battery power option is cool, but again, for my personal usage, i would only be using with mains power. But I can see that this will be useful to some of you.

Are the two left side continuous controllers freely assignable ? eg : can you assign the pitch slider to a non-zero-returning continuous variable ?

Dear ASM Team: Please make it possible to have the "voice Number" as modulation source. So you can make a vintage feeling ala Sequential "vintage Knob" (diverging envelope times per voice) Its the most simple and effective way to engage life to any synth. Every voice is unique..... Thank you. Cheers Jo
@Fluxwithit2 жыл бұрын
analog feel parameter already does this. if effects numerous parameters per voice.

I would love if I could get a laptop to even just change presets. That wheel? Why? Why nota keypad? I can’t get it to do the basic operation with the laptop. The machine itself is UNBELIEVABLE ♥️♥️
@AshunSoundMachines3 ай бұрын
send a Program change... this is covered in the manual :) the wheel... as well as buttons, as well as category selection, as well as favorites... no preset in Hydrasynth is very hard to get to. :)

This looks awesome, so glad it's the same engine as the original, and I'll probably get it, but why oh why did you decide on AA batteries instead of a rechargeable power bank? Just seems incredibly old fashioned for such a modern synth.
@roryjineffect2 жыл бұрын
ReVolt has you covered
@jameshagerman2 жыл бұрын
I also wish there were an option for a modern lipo pack... but AA's are _everywhere_ (including the Ni-MH rechargeables) and LiPo's in most rechargeable banks are a can of worms when trying to build a product (shipping, sourcing, charging circuit design including balancing enough cells to get to 12 volts, handling of multiple power sources without overloading cells, etc.). I'm just glad they didn't decide to go with D or C cells....
@AshunSoundMachines2 жыл бұрын
AA's are easily sourced. You can have a second set with you if you need longer battery life. A built in battery pack will eventually die over time, would be expensive to replace AND it would drive the cost up drastically.
@motherbrain20002 жыл бұрын
tl;dw It's the Hydrasynth but smaller (also: batteries).

Guys, it is 2021 and you still using batteries??? 8 of them??? Do you know how ass in the pain it is to charing 8 batteries? This technology is belong to the past. Why not using USB and rechargeable batteries like mobile phones or iPad for example?
@albedo0point392 жыл бұрын
Get a powerbank and a 5v-12v adapter (like the Ripcord one) and you can do that too!
@BappinProductions2 жыл бұрын
More to go wrong and extra expense for all users including those not interested in cordless operation. AAs might be antiquated but they're readily available for those that want to play the synth on the beach or wherever and the costs are kept away from potential buyers like myself who just want a compact, feature rich poly at capable synth for the studio.
@scottharris72222 жыл бұрын
Lithium Ion batteries do fail over time and then replacement is a pain. Having battery cells that are easily changed and sourced by the user, that don't have to be shipped through customs with all of the complications that this entails is the smarter move.
