Hydration pack review

Great review. Very in depth. I love Osprey packs and have already 4 at this point. This pack looks great. However I wish they did this specific model in a 20 for women. I’d say just a few minutes of using a pack would be a cool addition to a video.

Great review. Thanks for handling the pack so much so we can see it from all angles. I agree that a long go pro type video might not add much, but I'd appreciate just a quick back and side view of you wearing the pack to help get an idea of scale, or a video of you loading it up with your usual gear or a 15in laptop for example (again for scale). @@Greatgadgetsgear Hey again! I just got mine, and the side pockets barely want to accept my small water bottle (3 in across). I've never had this problem with osprey bags before so I'm wondering if it's just mine, like some kind of manufacturing defect. Usually they're too well thought out to have non-functional features.

ThexImperfectionist Well they usually are a bit tight when new. I have no problem using 16.9 store bought water in them or polar insulated bottle 20 oz or 24 oz both 3 in across. I did have to be a bit forceful the first couple of times. They will relax a bit but are that tight so you don’t get hung up on tree limbs when biking. Small bags use small bottles for that reason. So I buy bike bottles they are smaller across but taller in height so I don’t lose volume. Hope this helps.

Loved this video! I just got mine in the mail, I’m not sure if it’s fitting me wrong but it kind of sticks out on the front of the shoulders like an inch or two out. Did you find that on yours?

Thanks! You mean the shoulder straps stick out? No mine lay flat on my shoulders. No issues. Hmmm not sure your issue

I’ve ordered the raptor 14 and it is on the way but wondering if the synchro 12 would be a better fit for my daily bike commute since the wider dimensions would better accommodate my laptop. I see you have both packs. Apart from the mesh back of the Syncro do you think I would want to have both packs? Are there features you can’t live without of the raptor?

dance2135 I really love both packs. The removable tool kit in raptor is my favorite feature. Both packs are so versatile. Spring, summer and fall. I guess that would depend on you and your gear habits and how you ride. I would never get rid of either. Sync to great for light days especially when very hot out the raptor has a bit more room and love it for longer rides or if I want more gear. You really can’t go wrong with either or both! Lol. Great Gadgets & Gear! After using both, I too like both. I probably prefer the Raven since I like the large front stuff pocket and the side wallet pocket with the key fob and all the other pockets. I like the sync too and easy for city wear with no hip belt. I hadn’t realized the hydration pack wasn’t included from the vendor where I ordered the sync. I will say I could fit my laptop in both, despite it being 0,5 in width wider than the pack. That was one of my key needs because I am using these on a bike commute.

dance2135 That’s great I’m glad they work for you. Oh that’s a bummer my synchro came with the hydration bladder. It’s nice to have both to swap out to lighter pack when you can. Thanks for the update!

Trying to decide between the sylva 12 and raven 14 for a day pack. I like that the raven has pockets on the hip belt. Any thoughts?

Well I’m hooked on the sylva lol. It’s just the right size and feel and love the organization and lay out inside. I don’t really miss a hip belt even though I love pockets! Still use my raven for bike rides but so happy with sylva for hikes. It’s just has too many great things about it. The bright interior color just makes it so easy to find things and I can toss it anywhere. It’s very comfortable and people always ask hey where did you get that pack! Lol. You have a hard choice as the raven is also a great pack for many reasons. Wish I could be more help but it’s the sylva for me. It’s just too versatile and compact. Good luck! 🍀👍

@@Greatgadgetsgear I did a DEEP internet dive and found a Sylva 20 at a UK store! That size has hip belt pockets, is only slightly heavier, but still has the trampoline back! It’s either a brand new size or a discontinued size, we will see if it shows up 😂

MaroK I kinda think hiking bags are more by fit than guy or girl. I have some men’s pack for my mtb and I love how comfortable they are! This pack is just so cool so versatile for its size. My favorite!
