Hydraulic Bottle Jack Bleeding Video

The following bleeding procedure applies to TQB BRANDS TradeQuip bottle jack part numbers 2012,2013,2014,2015,2016
The usual symptoms of a bottle jack with air in the system are as follows.
• No resistance in the pump stroke while pumping up a load [handle feels light].
• Most of the down stroke of the pump taken up but no movement of the Lift Ram.
• Lift Ram jumps upwards while being pumped up.
• Lift Ram slowly raises on its own after being fully retracted.

this is the 5th or so such video I’v watched showing well enough, that there are roughly infinity differant ways to blEd botL jax.. but my QSTN in THIS partiqular way, referring to ending claim is, with everything closed wheather upside down or up, & pump angle vertical or horizontal, WHEEEEEeeeere exactly was this supposed air supposed to have been released? ..hmnnn?🤔

Never trust these bottle jacks. I had a relative jack his truck up to see what the noise was coming from under the front of his truck. He took the front tires off to rotate them and decided to take a closer look. Did not chock rear tire while parked on a slight incline due to being in a hurry, because it was close to dinner time. And a slight roll back caused the jacks to roll over, and the full weight crushed, and killed him. We will miss him forever. Please be careful.

You just said he had it on a slight angle, did not chock the tyre. Bet the handbrake was not on and the vehicle was in neutral (in case it was a manual gear change). Your relative was careless and as with any equipment, carelessness causes disaster. Certainly not the jack's fault if it was not used as it was intended to be used. Although I sympathise with you and your loss, in this case the blame lies with the operator and not the jack.
