Very nice design, love the wood and the fact you haven't made it the diameter of the bowl, so it's a smaller footprint than most hydraulic press designs.

Your juice press is a lovely piece of work. You're also a nice generous person, and it's certainly a pleasure to watch your video. I 'm just so sorry about some the the lamentable comments below. Purchased and carried it all the way to Israel.. It looks great and works even greater. I got more then 15-20% juice out of the pulp. Probably closer to 30%. I guess it depends also on the on the raw materials used but for the ingredients I use (Lettuce, Cucember, Zucchini, 2 carrots, Apple and a Pear) produced that amount. I really enjoy it, also as it is very easy to apply and use, and nothing to clean really on the press. Bravo!

Nice Job! may I suggest putting a decorative knob on the valve so you don't have to keep flippin the handle back and forth and a slightly shorter tighter fitting handle for the pump with a nice grip and it can be the "Deluxe" model

Hello, I built a similar one, problem Im having is the area where the jack meets the wood. What do you use to keep the jack from piercing right threw the wood block? right now I drilled a small hole and put a quarter inside to distribute the pressure a little better. Do you use a thick steal plate? Thank YOU

Wood has a warmer feel then steel to me. my press is engineered to withstand forces of a 2 ton jack plus. I would rather handle wood then steel but your forces of 15-100 ton demand steel. Your joints may be your limiting factor, 1 1/2" thick steel is REALLY strong.

Question what if we use a champion and get the mash which will make more juice vs. juicing from an omega or masticating juicer then taking the leftover mash to get the remaining juice left. Would the initial bulk of mash overflow liquid wise and get re-soaked up by the mash that you are pressing in the bowl? I know this sounds confusing. Instead of using leftover mash, I would like to use just mash containing a lot of liquid that I haven't sent through say a Omega or Masticating juicer. This initial mash will contain the bulk of the juice. I am thinking that since it's in a bowl that the overflow would get reabsorbed into the carrot mash etc. Thoughts?
