The only team that Hydro MC is viable in is Nilou Nahida team with high EM. Litterally Nilou bloom with Nahida is the only combo of teammates were this traveler isn't completely useless. You can use their hold skill with almost 100% uptime creating bloom city from a far. But that's really all you can do with this traveler.

I’ve done hours of testing to find out what is the most viable role for the hydro mc. And after hours of tests, I’ve concluded that the best way to use the hydro mc is to use his/her ability to help Varden and Gurgen to water their sumeru roses.

Not a sub dps (has to be on field), not a main dps (bad multipliers), not a support (kit focuses only on damage), not a hydro applier (low hydro application), what is their purpose? The only thing I can think of is exploration, since the region has these water container thingies that need a ton of hydro to fill up, but even that can be done by Barbara. I haven't seen their constellations though

The multipliers aren’t that low and she actually applies Hydro very fast. The issue here is the Burst. I don’t know how the devs could see the futility of a burst that just phases through enemies and say “yep, it’s perfect”. I think this is Karma for the leaks that showed her Burst being stationary and people complained about it.

I’m no meta enthusiast but I use hydro traveller with Lynette and raiden for overworld exploration. With raiden’s skill it can do a good amount of damage to regular enemies. Lynette is there for ousia, which makes fighting meka and doing puzzles easier.

That being said, I've already got the fountain to level 10 and over 50% of the underwater sections done so far, plus I already got the 2 new characters to level 60 so I'm currently farming for their artifacts but hopefully I'll have time soonish.

Dehya's artifact set would be a lot better on HMC because it takes advantage of the hp drain and buffs skill and burst dmg. (Update HMC's skill doesn't proc the set's effect, so it's actually not very good sadly.)

I tried it out. It'd work if you have Sac sword, as the skill damage doesn't go up while you're channeling it. But if you open with the skill for the buff you can increase your burst damage. Considering how energy hunger HMC is, sac sword might be the play.

my current team for hydro MC is mc/nahida/raiden/layla as a sort of fridge/hyperbloom setup with MC as the point character, with sacrificial sword for the GREATLY increased uptime on skill (for more hydro applications via hold skill) all 4 basically attack for free either as a rider on the MC's skill hits (nahida/raiden) or over time (layla), making for a rather comfy (if not super optimal) playstyle of turning genshin into a third-person shooter. rotation goes nahida skill-ult>raiden skill>layla skill-ult>MC ult-skill (hold), and just keep spamming the hold skill until you need to reapply buffs or ults. raiden is built for EM (inazuma spear/4pc gilded) since she's intended to proc the superconducts, i'm considering having nahida use the prototype catalyst for some additional healing, since it's nonexistent on the team, and layla (favonius sword, 4pc milileth) cant exactly cover all the damage herself though her shield IS pretty beefy with HP investment.

Hey there, If Any of you has C6 faruzan and does really like Hyro MC I Recommend him to be played in a Thunderstorm team with Hydro MC, faruzan C6, any electro off-field unit, and a Flex shielder is really dope. I tried Hydro MC with Fischl C6, altho MC skill doesn't count as consecutive attacks it still can work. The stagger from the skill of Hydro MC and the continuously grouping and swirl and CC without having to switch continuously is fun. I do recommend Layla for shield to make enemies stay in place by being freeze, swirls cc and electro charge.

When you see that one of her constellation reduces the speed of her burst, you come to understand that hoyoverse knows her burst is shit and has to have a constellation to try and fix it. Constellation should be bonuses not fixes. But they always are fixes for 4 stars

its clear that the MC was desinged for that one new artefact set, not just for a simple f2p 2pc glad and 2 pc hydro dmg combo, but the one that constantly buffs you whenever you lose health or gain health as you constantly lose health when you use your E and you gain health when you collect your created blue orbs from the E, plus with the constellations moves the Q slower, enabling it to hit more oftenly crowded targes, which is when you want to use it, when targets are crowded together, to hit them all as often as possible with a slower moving Q, especially with having placed up also support dps like Albedos Q for further mass aoe dmag Play HMC, Kazuha, Yelan, Jean, should make for a good combo, with them you have 3 characters in party with crowd control abilities, by pulling them together, gap closing and launching targets, so that you can unlpeash the HMC Q when they are all close together, while kazuha provides additional good aoe damage, yelan additilnal good single target damage and energy support for MC and with jean you a good healer with team support

Btw it is pnèvma ( e as in pet ) and ousìa ( ou as in cow goes moo) and i as in kiss The devs directly wrote it from Greek to English and that is why it is pneuma and not pnevma and ousia . When there is an "u" after "e" = "eu ευ " it is pronounced as ev or ef . Same with au ,αυ . And the oo sound in Greek ( moo) is written with ou , ου .

I think Hydro MC is lacking in battle but great for exploring and doing story quests with solo MC for the immersion of the story, because Hydro MC have a complete kit in one character imo They can attack long range (sort of, using their skill), have puzzle solving ability (pneuma), & have shield and party heal (when full constellations) Its nice to have a character that can do it all so i dont need to bother changing characters every now and then

That's basically how I feel about Dehya as well (for me personally, not justifying her or anything). It's nice to have a character you just permanently have in your team to do it all. The other 2 characters who are my "do-it-alls" are Kazuha and Zhongli. Zhongli provides both defense and shred, and Kazuha has exploration, grouping, and elemental sustain. They may not be the best character with the biggest number. But I can clear just about everything but 3* Floor 12 with them.

I think its a troll. I half expect the Pyro traveller to have a "self destruct" ultimate that KILLS the traveller as an ultimate. But the damage is still less then Dilucs Phoenix. Sucks too as I keep the traveller in my party for the entirety of my playing. She's the MC. I mean really, imagine if the elemental skill allowed you to move while channeling, and the burst was a homing attack that followed enemies around? Might be A or B tier quality. But that wasn't what they were going for.

Personally, I think Hoyo has nailed something very important with Hydro Traveler's kit: it's a blast to use. When I first resonated with Hydro and hit e, I wasn't going "huh..." For sure. I love using traveler during story quests, region exploration etc. and the water saber skill is just cool; it's like Yusuke's spirit gun (I especially love aiming it then shooting quickly, without really waiting for the little dewdrops to come out). I know that Sumeru traveler was its most effective iteration, but I was disappointed by the Inazuma and Sumeru traveler concepts because they just didn't feel as cool and as fun as Mondstadt or Liyue traveler.

Was really hoping that hydro Traveler might be as good as Dendro. It has a nice idea with the manual shooting dewdrops, but I feel it really could be better and it just isn't. Regardless, I'm still going to try and build her as the best dps I can because Traveler doesn't get nearly enough usage as I feel they should. Trying Freeze, Nilou Bloom, Vaporize, and Annihilation teams (for Fontaine), and going to try my hand at a mono hydro team as well. ♡

I'm a Traveler, main and, well, i won't deny up until now, Dendro MC and Geo MC are still the best options to go for. But as i said until now, who knows what 4.1 and 4.2 etc has in store for us. The damage is not good but isn't totally bad either is just very average. To me the 2 main things that kinda makes Hydro MC a bit unconfortable to use is, the 6 sec Hold of his Eskill his Constallation 6 (we don't have acces to it yet but will have in 4.1 most likely). As for why i see these things only as a problem is, because channeling his Eskill for 6 sec is too long for a just average damage, and C6 could had been a good and usefull Constallation to go for if it was able to heal the WHOLE party instead of 1 character, i mean the healing from it isn't crazy either Hydro traveler won't replace a true healer if he were to heal the full scale party, i can't understand what was Hoyoverse idea behind it... Solutions i could see (which will never happen probably) would be if Hoyoverse doubled the damage multiplier of the Dewdrops and reduced the 6 sec duration for a short 3 sec while of course adjusting the pneuse procs on it accordingly to fit these 3 secs everytime. The damage in numbers would remain the same, however, faster actions means in combat situations also a gain in dps thus then making is i guess good to use. As for C6, honestly Hoyoverse just need probably the press of 1 little button a keyboard to make it heal a full scale party with it, every source water heals for 6% HP of the party members it's healing sor it would be a nice 24% healing for everyone, it's not much but this would fit perfectly inside a Dehya party, or become usefull on Shielded teams against corrosion easely.

Usually traveller's playstyle is similar to archon of respect element. This time however, it seems the hydro traveler is more similar to Neuvillette playestyle than Furina.

I use Diona's shield and after that the normal hits cant stop you from using elemental skill but the cryo and bubble may stun you!

HMC is really bad, but they're really fun! They're like Oz but Hydro, i personally run them with Nahida, EM Raiden, and Lynette. Sometimes i swap Lynette with Zhongli when i fight bosses.

For traveler, I like to use the last nation's element against the new nation elements. Like start with anemo against geo area, geo against electro, electro against Sumeru area, denji against Fontaine, hydro against Natain and pyro in the last region.

So i e been running her with the new craftable sword, the new baguette set, and kuki, layla, and lisa. The constant drop and raise of hp causes her to gain a ton of atk especially when kukia healing eats the life bond, probably no where near top tier but shes a maching gun emplacement that applies hydro hor stars to freeze , which then get procced by kukis heal, and lisas burst for a death field.

I have in fact thought of a utility, though it requires a final character to complete the build. And it's about an off field Pyro DPS that doesn't focus in melee combat. If we get such a character in the future, Hydro traveller would actually be one of the best drivers for that character on a Fireworks team. Because then we could finally have a team that can in fact make use of Overload's knockback as a positive thing. Since overload would potentially allow Hydro Traveller's burst to hit more than 3-8 times. All we would need is Yae Miko/Fischl, H.Traveller, that new pyro character, and any kind of support. Honestly we really need a new off-field Pyro character, one that doesn't work only at melee range

I agree with your ending statements, that HMC probably serves as an experiment for abilities that require channeling to be used. More over, HMC's Constellations are clearly designed to help the player use the entire duration of HMC'S E. But it doesn't excuse the fact that they gave them such a horrid burst with an equally insulting energy requirement of 80.

Should've just made the burst free with a 8 second cooldown. Since it's basically what Dendro/Electro/Geo MC calls their elemental skill. Then again, it seems like they set out to design HMC with the idea that they should be an even shittier version of AMC, and it appears they've succeed spectacularly.

You could MAYBE get a bit more damage running support Raiden, using her skill, and then Nahida’s skill with hydro MC. Then you’d be creating hyperbloom reactions potentially at a decent range. But…yeah that’s basically all the ideas I’ve got on boosting dmg.

Hydro Mages and Archers exist, so this doesn’t even make sense. And the problem isn’t even the Skill. The Burst is essentially pointless.

The one thing I had in mind for HMC is "She might be a decent reaction driver on a team with a short rotation." And the example given with a Nilou Bloom team basically confirms this. HMC can deliver accurate hydro application downrange faster than any other character. Constellations gives her a built-in shield and she's an HP scaler, so she can take quite a few hits. This character is not utterly useless, you just need to get a bit creative. Personally I just laugh every time I see that pea shooter of an elemental skill. It's probably the least satisfying skill to use in the entire game, in stark contrast with the Anemo MC elemental skill, which to this day is still one of the most satisfying skill to use in the entire game, even if it's not that effective.

Hidro traveler wasn't designet for combat, it was designed to solve exploration hidro puzzles with is aiming skills. for combat we will continue use is dendro variant.

I could see HMC being practical if you could swap off HMC mid-fire and it will continue to fire with automatic targeting until the end while decreasing HMC's Hp. It would have also been better if HMC's burst stayed in place upon contact. HMC's dewdrop pellets shouldve had AoE so sniperbloom on higher constellations make sense

In my opinion : - new element for traveler is fun to build (but not quickly : YOU MAD FARMING ALL THIS STUFF FOR DOUBLE CROWN ! :p ) - his ult is cringe as hell (remember me anemo) - his E is equal to all elemental skill he used to have (except good dendro one) - The most fun thing is he can put hydro like a GUN PS : i cant wait for archon hydro reveal kit (maybe some synergy..)
